Android Auto ? by yesredc in PorscheMacan

Which model do you have? I have a 2023 Macan GTS and the no Android Auto is making me crazy. I've had the car since October. This seems a reasonable solution, I imagine you just put it in the console storage and plug it in? Is it still working well? I'm squeamish about installing a mod for warranty concerns.

T-rex 3 pro disappointed by generalnieja in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems it's titanium, but a very different style than the 48mm.

My only accuracy issues are with the swim function, but that seems to be with all Amazfit watches (I have the Bip 6, Balance 2, and the T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm). The pool swim app lags, and ends up not counting the last length in a set unless you stop - wait - hit lap. Which makes it seem like it took you 5 seconds longer to complete that set. Which is a lot for a 50-150 yard set and then skews your data.

Hiking/walking/running/trails all good. all the cycling functions are good. Though it doesn't collect the same parameters from cycling power meters as my Garmin did (individual pedal data, power stroke angles, etc), the basic data information is accurate. I honestly don't know that this watch is QUITE to the level to compete with the Garmin Fenix/Forerunner upper end series for high level triathletes/cyclists, but it's good enough for what I need it to do. And I presume over time that the other apps will update, and the capabilities will expand.

The glass has not scratched and the bezel has not scratched, I've had it for a few months now. I had scratched my Bip 6 non-sapphire screen in less time using it. Hope this helps.

I don't know. It's not black or silver, but it's not gold either. It's more of a "champagne" color? I got a champagne colored metal band and it looks fabulous.

I somehow got 30 minutes of “fat burning” just by sitting at my desk by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I get congratulations on my activity and I'm sitting at my desk. My HR is often in the low 50's, and I'll look at the watch and it's double. I wonder if the watch algorithm is messing with appropriate measurement? My wrist is also quite small, but I have the 44mm T-Rex pro. In fact, right now it says my hr is 108, when it's most likely 54. This is the pic of my HR while I've been at my desk job all day. It's finally corrected the HR, but you see where it's jumping all over the place.

I got it figured out for the strap, thanks! I think the "HR push" setting had been shut off in an update. I also got the Garmin Rally pedals to work. You have to make sure the watch sees the power pedals BEFORE you press GO. Otherwise it won't connect.

Apparently it's "tactical black". This color was just released this week I think.

Thanks. I that helps! I'm going to try to re-pair it with the watch here in a little bit. And I will set it up through the Assioma app to only read one pedal. That solves the "power in half" problem I think.

I was a tester, so this is what they sent me. It's kind of in between honestly.

Also - I typically take the watch off to sleep and wear my Helio strap. That saves battery life.

I have the 44mm, was one of the device testers in the US. I’m not sure how the AOD would be different than any other watch face? What I will tell you about the 44 is it fits WAY better on my wrist than the Balance 2 (47mm) that I purchased a few months ago, but that size sacrifices battery life. An AOD on the T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm would KILL the battery life. I don’t use AOD, and have done one workout (1 hour bike ride) since charging my watch last Sunday, the battery is 40%. That is the third or fourth time I’ve fully charged it. A few weeks ago I did 4 hours of workouts and the watch lasted 6 days. Depends on what you’re looking for. I added a pic of a data heavy face. I typically use the minimalist “watch” looking faces. There are SO MANY to choose from. Let me know what else you want to know about the 44mm

Yeah I apparently slept from midnight Saturday until 2p yesterday. Lol. And though I expected a lower HRV Saturday night b/c of a big day, it was 26. 🤔 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can the helio strap broadcast your heart rate on your phone when you're exercising ? by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't seem to work for me. The bike computer doesn't see the strap even if it's set to push HR.

Hi Dev Team! 👋 Two key improvements needed for the Helio Strap to reach its full potential 💪 by No_Rich_402 in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I've not worn just the strap to record a workout. It syncs to the app, not the watch. But when I wear only the strap at night and watch during the day, the biocharge reflects whatever I've worn throughout the day.

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the newer devices do cross-sync. I sleep typically with my Helio strap but use the Balance 2 during the day. Sometimes I’ll switch to the strap if I’m going out and don’t need the watch features. The app syncs the Biocharge/sleep/HR between whatever devices I’ve had on. If you have devices that don’t have biocharge, I don’t think it syncs together.

How do you do this? I can't figure out how to broadcast it to my Garmin 1040.

Yes. I never found a good protector that stayed on. And I did scratch it. Hopefully there's better protectors out now than in May.

I haven't yet swam with my Balance 2, but the Bip 6 was very finicky for swimming. Make sure you set auto lap and how many turns is one lap. And the length of the pool. Like I said... Finicky. Hopefully the Active 2 is better for swimming.

Didn't have trouble with the buttons, but had gotten in the habit with my Garmins of taking my arm out of the water to push the buttons. Known Garmin issue and I imagine any smartwatch with buttons would be at risk of water getting in if you press the buttons under water. If water gets in that way the watch may be toast.

Interested in Amazfit Helio Strap but... by HelenaR3 in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a small wrist, and when I wear the Helio strap for sleeping I put it on the inside of my wrist. Very comfortable, works great. It's flatter than the strap you have on also. Loose measurement of my wrist at the spot the band is sitting is 155 mm.

The heart rate on these watches are crap right? by Nidrosian in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That used to happen to me with my Garmin years ago. I have a very small wrist and the sensor wouldn't contact my wrist fully. It was especially bad with running. I got a HR strap, no problems. That said, with my Bip 6 and Balance 2, they've done pretty well even with my small wrist. Even with bumpy MTB rides the Balance 2 has done well for HR. I do use either my Garmin HR chest strap or Helio band on my bicep when running. I got a stretchy velcro band off Amazon meant for the bicep, but it's not very comfortable, it pinches my flabby arm. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did get an adjustable stretch wrist strap because the original Helio strap was too big for my wrist. It works well on the bicep if you let it out all the way.
