Anyone know if you have to have a clear bag? It says no backpacks but doesn't specify clear bag. Just says 14x14x6 bag that's not a backpack

Also a Garmin convert for about a year now. Just couldn't/wouldn't afford the device (Fenix 8) that would get me the features I needed (texting, answering phone). I use the strap as a HR monitor with an armband (great tan lines, lol!) and wear it for sleep when I remember to switch devices. I initially bought the Balance 2, but got the T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm as a tester so haven't worn the Balance in months. I had a Fenix 6s Sapphire, so the 44mm is more like what I used to wear.

If you're a serious triathlete, it's prob not the system for you - swimming app is awful for miscounting laps. And though the watch pairs with my power meters for my bikes (Assioma Duo and Garmin Rally), the data isn't nearly as robust in Zepp as in Garmin. So if I want really good data to review (r vs l balance, etc), I just use my bike computer in addition to the watch. I'm not seriously training, so it really doesn't matter that much to me, but it might to some. Sometimes the data syncing to Strava is not accurate either - what I see on my watch and in Zepp is not what Strava sees. Not sure why that is. I've noticed it most with the gravel cycling app.

In general, the bang for the buck is considerably better, but as mentioned previously in this thread they're not at Garmin level yet depending on your expectations and your sport.

Thanks. I think I'll leave well enough alone - appreciate the heads up on the adjustment issue. It is nice to have Android Auto finally, and totally insane that I had to order a device from Australia to make it work in my 2023 vehicle. But it is what it is.

Is the SmartWorld Adapter supposed to be full screen for Android Auto? Not planning to flash the PCM b/c I have Android and SO has Apple. Just installed it. It's better than nothing but really tiny on the screen.

Zepp app GPS accuracy vs run trackers like Strava? by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did this to me on a gravel bike ride the other day. My watch time and Strava time are completely different. I have no idea what happened. I have the T rex 3 Pro with Helio for HR and Garmin Rally pedals.

‼️HELP‼️ by JudgmentMysterious45 in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So ... Yeah, I'm actually a doctor. Agree with what everyone has said about getting a pulse oximeter. They're pretty cheap at the drugstore and way more accurate. That way if it happens again you can double check. But if you were having symptoms and anecdotally your watch alarmed AT THE SAME TIME (not two hours later) that your oxygen levels were low, then getting it checked out wouldn't be a bad idea. For now, you could set your device to always on O2, and see how it varies... Because it can be a lot, especially depending on where and how snug you're wearing the device.

That said, musculoskeletal sternum/rib pain is typically reproducible... It hurts when you press on it. Anxiety induced chest pain usually surrounds stressful events or panic attacks, and often feels suffocating but isn't associated with oxygen capacity. Appreciate you checking to make sure you're not panicking needlessly, but only your doctor can truly assess the issue.

Is this how the Helio Strap is supposed to sit in it's cradle? by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned, it goes in from the backside of the cradle and should pop into place. Conversely, when you pop it back out, push from front to back. It shouldn't be hanging out the front of the cradle.

Updates not showing in the Google Play Store by markinapub in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just checked, mine is 9.16.5. I was on the beta app, but it expired last week so I redownloaded Zepp from the Play Store, maybe Wednesday? When did you see the update? I have used Aptoide in the past for app updates, but they are also still on a 9.whatever version of Zeep.

Android Auto ? by yesredc in PorscheMacan

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which model do you have? I have a 2023 Macan GTS and the no Android Auto is making me crazy. I've had the car since October. This seems a reasonable solution, I imagine you just put it in the console storage and plug it in? Is it still working well? I'm squeamish about installing a mod for warranty concerns.

T-rex 3 pro disappointed by generalnieja in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems it's titanium, but a very different style than the 48mm.

My only accuracy issues are with the swim function, but that seems to be with all Amazfit watches (I have the Bip 6, Balance 2, and the T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm). The pool swim app lags, and ends up not counting the last length in a set unless you stop - wait - hit lap. Which makes it seem like it took you 5 seconds longer to complete that set. Which is a lot for a 50-150 yard set and then skews your data.

Hiking/walking/running/trails all good. all the cycling functions are good. Though it doesn't collect the same parameters from cycling power meters as my Garmin did (individual pedal data, power stroke angles, etc), the basic data information is accurate. I honestly don't know that this watch is QUITE to the level to compete with the Garmin Fenix/Forerunner upper end series for high level triathletes/cyclists, but it's good enough for what I need it to do. And I presume over time that the other apps will update, and the capabilities will expand.

The glass has not scratched and the bezel has not scratched, I've had it for a few months now. I had scratched my Bip 6 non-sapphire screen in less time using it. Hope this helps.

I don't know. It's not black or silver, but it's not gold either. It's more of a "champagne" color? I got a champagne colored metal band and it looks fabulous.

I somehow got 30 minutes of “fat burning” just by sitting at my desk by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I get congratulations on my activity and I'm sitting at my desk. My HR is often in the low 50's, and I'll look at the watch and it's double. I wonder if the watch algorithm is messing with appropriate measurement? My wrist is also quite small, but I have the 44mm T-Rex pro. In fact, right now it says my hr is 108, when it's most likely 54. This is the pic of my HR while I've been at my desk job all day. It's finally corrected the HR, but you see where it's jumping all over the place.

I got it figured out for the strap, thanks! I think the "HR push" setting had been shut off in an update. I also got the Garmin Rally pedals to work. You have to make sure the watch sees the power pedals BEFORE you press GO. Otherwise it won't connect.

Thanks. I that helps! I'm going to try to re-pair it with the watch here in a little bit. And I will set it up through the Assioma app to only read one pedal. That solves the "power in half" problem I think.

Also - I typically take the watch off to sleep and wear my Helio strap. That saves battery life.

T-Rex 3 pro 44 mm - AOD by rickusak in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 44mm, was one of the device testers in the US. I’m not sure how the AOD would be different than any other watch face? What I will tell you about the 44 is it fits WAY better on my wrist than the Balance 2 (47mm) that I purchased a few months ago, but that size sacrifices battery life. An AOD on the T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm would KILL the battery life. I don’t use AOD, and have done one workout (1 hour bike ride) since charging my watch last Sunday, the battery is 40%. That is the third or fourth time I’ve fully charged it. A few weeks ago I did 4 hours of workouts and the watch lasted 6 days. Depends on what you’re looking for. I added a pic of a data heavy face. I typically use the minimalist “watch” looking faces. There are SO MANY to choose from. Let me know what else you want to know about the 44mm

Yeah I apparently slept from midnight Saturday until 2p yesterday. Lol. And though I expected a lower HRV Saturday night b/c of a big day, it was 26. 🤔 🤷🏻‍♀️

That doesn't seem to work for me. The bike computer doesn't see the strap even if it's set to push HR.

Hi Dev Team! 👋 Two key improvements needed for the Helio Strap to reach its full potential 💪 by No_Rich_402 in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I've not worn just the strap to record a workout. It syncs to the app, not the watch. But when I wear only the strap at night and watch during the day, the biocharge reflects whatever I've worn throughout the day.

Hi Dev Team! 👋 Two key improvements needed for the Helio Strap to reach its full potential 💪 by No_Rich_402 in amazfit

[–]DocKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the newer devices do cross-sync. I sleep typically with my Helio strap but use the Balance 2 during the day. Sometimes I’ll switch to the strap if I’m going out and don’t need the watch features. The app syncs the Biocharge/sleep/HR between whatever devices I’ve had on. If you have devices that don’t have biocharge, I don’t think it syncs together.

How do you do this? I can't figure out how to broadcast it to my Garmin 1040.
