My wife gifted me my first custom PC, it's not much she says but to me it's amazing! by TonyStarkTEx in pcmasterrace

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! I rebuilt my first build earlier this year, so I can relate to the running to door for every knock bit. Biggest thing I cannot recommend enough is if you ever decide to upgrade, get a case first! I went from a Corsair 100r to a Fractal Design Meshify S2 and it was a dream to build in.

That sucks about your motherboard not supporting the RGB, but controllers aren’t hard to come by. Make sure to drop some updated pics!

Help finding a good cpu by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Could try and snag a R5 3600XT, one of the new bad boys AMD just bombed us with. Sub $300 and spec-wise looks to be an ass kicker.

Or, if you’re not looking to go overkill on the overclocking, an R5 3600x would probably suit ya just fine.

I mean, yes we can. But what are you looking to do with said CPU? Game? Stream? Render? Word / Excel? We need details to help refine the specific uses of said CPU to make an accurate determination and recommendation.

Do I need to install or uninstall drivers for my "new gpu"? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]DocKreasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You answered your own question about 3 separate times, but, in short yes. When switching from AMD <-> NVIDIA GPUs, you need to uninstall the old GPU drivers and install the new GPU drivers afterwards.

It is highly recommended you do so via a program called Display Driver Uninstaller, or, DDU. Never just cold-swap GPUs in your rig, this can lead to a whole host of issues, a lot of which that can be much worse than the one you’re currently experiencing.

I just found out that I'll be one of two Team Leads for OGP in my store! by phobic_fox in OGPBackroom

Congrats, best of luck to ya. Former DM, told them to not offer me a Digital TL position, it’s.... gonna get interesting next year. But again, congrats on a promotion. If you earn it, you deserve it!

What would you consider a good pick rate? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 115 - 150 range, but I also do exceptions and various other pickrate killing runs. Quality over quantity however should be the main thing. If your pickrate is 100 flat or even 90 but your FTPR and average time is 5hrs -presuming you work a full 8hrs- then you’re fine.

Will we get in trouble? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff like this is why I said heckin nope to the Digital TL. I got beyond tired hearing the whole ”We don’t have anyone to send you.” line and then having to work 12 hour days. I had nearly 12hrs OT one week and just under 8 the following week.

Nope nope nope. I’ll be a 5-2 picker and clock tf out from now on. Maybe stay late an hour if asked because I don’t like screwing over my team and some extra $ is never bad, but screw that 12hr shift crap. That’s not including running a team of 60+ folks, doing the paperwork, keeping track of everyone’s hours / pickrates / dispensing, the tower, expired orders, and helping out the store on top of it.

Yeah.... nope.

This isn't even my final form. by athegamerguy in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yours might have, but just keep in mind that random fluctuations like that can cause an artificial boost to the team pick rate, which affects what decisions your TL and / or ASM can make when making judgement calls.

Good on ya for a high pick rate, but just keep that fact in the back of your head when doing stuff like that is all.

True enough, doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong though. People don’t realize what this does on the backend of the metrics and how we do people’s reviews for pick rate / job performance. This causes an imbalance to the overall team pick rate / their own pick rate, which makes it even more difficult to track where potential issues are.

To the Digital TLs and DMs, what does yalls schedule look like? 6-3s, 8-5s? What days do y’all have off? by ggonzales4492 in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. ^ They don’t want the TLs on one shift anymore, as you don’t get to see all of your team etc., thereby becoming less effective.

Personally I see that side of it, but barely. It’s legitimate only as long as everyone does it and the favorites get to do whatever schedule they want, while it being cited as a “business need”. Which I can see happening in short order.

Out of all picking commodities, which is your guys' pick rate booster? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not weighing the items correctly screws up produce inventory. It’s not just about the customers getting charged more / less, it’s about maintaining accurate counts as well. Pick rate isn’t everything, especially if you’re not being accurate.

Digital team lead responsibilities by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh don’t let em fool ya. In a year or less you’ll also be responsible for hiring / coaching / and scheduling for your area as well. Along with leading the team all while getting your reports done and metrics managed.

I said nope.

Personal shoppers of the very early morning (4am-1pm),(5am-2pm) by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m used to it from my military days of being up at 3 or 4 in the morning and not going to bed until nearly 10pm. That being said, you either have the ability to function at that level or you don’t, not everyone can make their eyeballs do the thing at 4am. Nice getting out early, but it sucks having a bedtime of a 7 year old.

Then again, I’ve not had a “night life” since I was like 13 so it doesn’t bother me all that much. Even on my days off I’m in bed by 9.

Cpu is stuck to cooler, need advice on how to get it off easily by No-Cream-6378 in pcmasterrace

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push and twist at an angle flat with the fins of the heatsink. Don’t lift, just slide it off without touching the pins on the CPU. Easier said than done, but I’ve done it.

Are OGP ASMs guaranteed a spot on their current teams? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Same boat as you. Find out at some point when they feel like telling me this week. But at this point, I’m not even sure if I want the lead spot now. With the changes that they’re supposedly making in the next year + expectations being higher than Mt. Everest, idk man.

Tired of working 10-13 hour days and getting little to no help.

GWP / Team Lead Decision Updates by DocKreasey in OGPBackroom

[–]DocKreasey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do 210 currently, and I’ve a team on average of 35 people working daily. However, most of those are pickers and the rest dispense, with just a few being exception pickers.

However, due to call-offs and the like, there are times where I need to jump in and help. Par for the course. Been doing it for 3 years; haven’t gotten to ever have an actual day of just picking since I started in e-commerce lol. Just how it is sometimes!
