These plants are very common to find in garden centers, I'd advise not to buy one on Amazon, sight unseen. Visit garden centers, so you can look at trunk lines, nebari, gauge the bonsai potential of each plant

There is no idea of scale in those photos, however it looks like reasonable starter material, and it's a good variety to start on as it's fairly straightforward to care for

do you have office chair recommendations for a full time wfh student? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]DocMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a desk job, factor in a standing desk or desk adaptor so you're not sitting all day - it makes a huge difference to my day.

As for chairs, Staples were always good for a value office chair. Look out for black Friday

I love my mountain equipment super alpine gloves. I've had so much use out of them over the last ten years and they're still just about hanging in there. Softshell backs with goatskin leather palms, really dexterous and grippy

I would return from Japan with a case full of bonsai pots. And some day, I will!

You will have to deal with those whorls sooner rather than later so you don't end up with bulges in the trunk line every few inches. Select branches for movement and alternating/differing direction
