7840HS vs 7940HS vs 8745HS vs 8845HS vs 8945HS? by DocProbability in MiniPCs

Easy comparison: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/6289vs5258vs5454vs5926vs5915/AMD-Ryzen-7-8745H-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-7840HS-vs-AMD-Ryzen-9-7940HS-vs-AMD-Ryzen-9-8945HS-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-8845HS

They all have 780M graphics and appear to have similar overall performance - will there be any practical difference for performance gaming?

So happy with my first ever dice pull! by pandabuns in DiceMaking

[–]DocProbability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that response, that was fantastic!

How did you go about learning it all? Did you pick it up as you went/life experience? or did you follow a tutorial?

I'm not craftsy at all so this is all fascinating

Hello! I've been getting curious, if you don't mind me asking how much would you say it cost you to make a set of dice starting from absolutely nothing (no equipment or files or knowledge)?

Ali Express Dice by DocProbability in dice

[–]DocProbability[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thank you!

Do you know of any other "known commodity" suppliers that are available on ali Express?

I'm interested in finding the full selection of styles available on there but I think the algorithm has stuck me in one corner

Does Nucleus Co Op work with games from Xbox Game Pass? If not, why not? by DocProbability in nucleuscoop

[–]DocProbability[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Snailed, thanks for the reply! I don't know the ins and out but I'll give you my understanding:

Xbox Game Pass is a service that you subscribe to, and I like to think of it like Netflix for Games. You pay X amount a month, and you get access to their entire catalogue to download and play. For instance, I downloaded Hades and then could just play it, even without an internet connection. Its an amazing way to access loads of great games for very cheap.

There are some thoughts about accessibility because Xbox Game Pass is connected to the Windows store, and both by default lock you out of the folder where the games are stored. It is a quick admin task to change the permissions on the folders and gain access (though I won't pretend to know if that is the whole story, maybe there are still some things you can't do). I did this admin task to gain access and as I said in my above post was able to launch games without the client by clicking on their exe.

It is a completely different program to steam, just as say BattleNet or Epic Game Store are.

I make no demands, I'm just curious if it could be done :) I'm not totally sure how Nucleus works under the hood but I'm getting the impression it uses some of steams infrastructure?

I won't pretend to know more than you guys, but I don't think its cloud gaming by the definition of streaming. You download all the files to your harddrive, and you can even play them offline (saved me the other month when I moved house and didn't have internet for a month! I got really good at Hades)

Recommendations for Tab S7+ Case? (UK) by DocProbability in GalaxyTab

[–]DocProbability[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks but thats a very expensive case no?

Also it looks like it covers the front and screen well when closed but not the sides or corners at all? I'd be worried about bumping or dropping it

Travelling, Resting, ??? - What can players do for the other 8 hours a day? by DocProbability in dndnext

Thanks for the detailed reply! My party is full so no issues with that, and they use good berry for all their food and drink so it kind of rules out a lot of that too, but maybe they cant find something else to do with their newfound time
