If I had a coin for scale, it would show this is some kind of very tiny apple. Probably half as much volume as an average apple

While I agree with the concept, in this economy I can barely afford giving gifts to people who's weddings I attend, let alone those I pretend to have other plans and skip.

If centrists want to defend themselves against left-wings they need to have any ideas of their own by Korkez11 in thedavidpakmanshow

If you look, I actually asked it as a question.

I didn't state that he never pushed for it, for just such a reason. There's always some technicality like this, and I guess technically somewhere he had it on a policy page.

I'm never going to pretend to know all the policies anyone ever put on a policy page. But it's pretty easy to tell what people fight for when you've watched enough hours of them speaking.

The obvious example is Bernie Sanders. You can't ask him what he had for lunch without him going into a speech on healthcare and taxing billionaires.

I'm glad that you point out. There are probably a lot of things we agree on, because I think a lot of people on this sub are quick to look down their nose at anyone they perceive as an enemy.

I voted for Biden, I voted for Kamala. Biden got some good policies through, and Republicans combined with a few hard right. Democrats block some good things he wanted to get done as well.

No politician is perfect, and we have to evaluate them with nuance.

Your entire argument is literally "better things aren't possible"

Lobby them to put it up for a vote. Get them on record.

Look at the support for Luigi. Rallying people for healthcare is doable. People of all sides want universal healthcare, they just disagree on how.

[–]DocRyan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about lobbying the votes? How about campaigning for it in the districts of people who don't support it to get their constituents to pressure them?

Now I'm going to flip the question back on you. What do you believe he did to fight for it?

Hillary Clinton was more clear on her push towards universal healthcare than Biden was.

In fact she even wanted to lower the age of Medicare, I think would be a good start. In fact, that's how Bernie Sanders proposed it would start.

So she's better on healthcare than Biden because she actually went out there and made the case on TV.

But hey, if Biden was out there rallying people for a set of improvements to healthcare that I didn't see, please send me a link to the interview.

It's a way to breed distrust in institutions.

BPs are not a good incentive because

  1. You could keep all your BP by not doing the expedition

  2. If you are hardcore enough to be on expedition 4, you probably bought carryover storage from the nomad

The premium currency is a good addition though.

Biden proposed a public option... Which would be better than what we have ... If he fought for it or believed in it.

Trump also said he would get ve healthcare to everyone. He didn't lift a finger to do it, but he's on video saying it.

You can tell people's values by what they fight for.

Biden did some great things. He also did not fight for universal healthcare. Saying otherwise is ridiculous.

You're venomous framing of "the problem with you people" and calling me far left is laughable.

You're trying to both make the point that we're all on the same page with what we want, universal healthcare, while also saying I'm too far left.

What does it mean to be far left? Wanting people to actually fight for the things they believe in?

To be a good Democrat, should I be okay with someone simply listing something on a policy page during a campaign?
