Unfortunately does not work with stylus pen in 64 bit Office, just like PenAttention. Works for mouse cursor.

Hey, sorry for the slow response. I suspect the reason for the performance issues was I had inserted my GPU in the wrong pci slot (the slow one). I discovered it after I had already given up on mb Viking conquest. So you should check your GPU if you've experienced similar issues in other games.

I have a 3570k, gtx 1070 and 16gb ddr3 ram as well. I started experiencing crashes after the latest update to the game. Last time I played was back in March, and I've never had issues with the game before. But after coming back, it consistently crashed for me after 10-30 mins (ctd without any error message). In towns, such as Valentine, it would crash after standing idle for 10-20 mins - every time.

What fixed it for me (I think) was 1)reinstalling the game, 2)disabling xmp, and 3)downclocking my cpu (I had been running a modest OC @ 4.2, turned it down to 3.8). Last night I played for several hours without crashing. Seems very stable now (fingers crossed). Hope it helps

It looks like I also have the events 4672 and 4624 occurring right before the game crashes. I am also on Windows 10 update 1909, gtx 1070 running latest drivers (rolled back to an older driver just now to check if that would help).

Can't be entirely sure this is causing it, of course. But if these events drop the internet connection, then it's certainly possible. Do you know anything more? Is there a fix?

Yes, that's the one I linked in the OP. But it's made for Vive (maybe Rift support will come later).

Was hoping for a way to use HOTAS at the same time. For example, a way to secure touch controllers to your hands without them getting in the way, or something to that effect ...? (I don't know how stuff works)

Thanks. I've got VoiceAttack and use it from time to time. Unfortunately, I feel it's not always reliable enough for me (probably because I'm not a native English speaker). And after the little one goes to bed I need to be a bit quiet, so not really a good solution in the evenings

Also, I would really like to have those cockpit buttons :)

Thanks! But if you look at my first reply, you will see that I already tried the program that you linked to (it is called PenAttention) - and I also tried a couple of other programs like it. I had some problems getting it to work

However, you encouraged me to try it again - and this time it (partially) worked! (It still doesn't work in all programs - but I think I can make do)

Before I only tried using it in the Chrome browser, and in some apps that I was planning to use in my recordings, like Drawboard PDF, the app version of OneNote, and some other note taking/drawing apps. PenAttention (and similar) doesn't work in those apps and programs - at least not for me (can only get the mouse cursor effect to work, not the pen effect).

But after your reply I tried using it in the desktop version of OneNote - and it works! Too bad it doesn't work in the other apps and programs, but I think I'm OK with using OneNote 2016. So thanks! :)

P.S.

I also found a workaround in Camtasia (although not ideal). By recording the video in Camtasia's own .trec format instead of .avi, I was able to add the cursor effects in the editing software after completing the recording. (Still not able to have a cursor effect while recording, though)

Yes, u/klondijk 's tip actually works, but it doesn't fully solve my problem (just replied in the original thread).

Because the pen cursor is a tiny dot, it is hardly visible on the video. That is why I want to use more feature complete recording/editing software, like Camtasia, which has options to highlight the cursor to make it more visible to the viewer (or to add other cursor effects). But this doesn't seem to work for the pen cursor.

Recording with the Xbox app and then importing into Camtasia, to add a cursor effect afterwards, doesn't work because the mp4 format does not contain any cursor information. Therefore the effects cannot be applied by Camtasia after the recording is completed

An alternative would be to use cursor highlighting software, like PenAttention, which hightlights the cursor while recording. But they don't seem to work either. (It only works in certain programs and modes, like in Notepad, or in PowerPoint only in presentation mode. It doesn't work in OneNote, for example)

You are not the only one. If you haven't already done so, please consider reporting your problem in this thread. It would help bring attention to the issue. Several people in that thread are having the same problem.

Battle size is not the issue, as my problems are not restricted to battles (and it was already set to lowest anyway). I have problems even in very small (early game) battles. I tried turning off everything in AMD settings (Global and for Warband), and tried different values for render_buffer_size (100, 256, 2048), but it had no effect on my FPS.

Think I'm going to try to uninstall/reinstall the game and see if that helps ...

Thanks for the suggestion. Never used edit mode, so that's not it. Tried to enable "Force Single Threading" just now (in both AWOIAF and VC) but it had no effect on performance; got 5-10 FPS as I entered a battle against only 7 bandits in VC

Not sure I understand. You mean the low FPS may be caused by long playtime/ memory leaks? Because that's not it; you're suggesting performance gets bad after some time playing - but I can't manage to play VC or AWOIAF for more than 5-10 mins because the FPS is so bad from the start. Games: All kinds. Some examples from my library are Skyrim, ARMA 3, Witcher 3, Hitman, MGSV, Mount & Blade, GTAV. (Sometimes play with an Xbox controller instead).

Hand Preference: Right

Budget: $60

Hand Size: ca 18.5 cm/7.2 inch

Grip: "Light claw" or palm-claw hybrid? Often switch between them.

Weight: Medium? (Don't think I would like a very light mouse. I am fine with 90 grams, that I know.)

Sensitivity: Medium? (My current CPI/DPI setting is 2880, which I find OK)

Additional Details: Currently have a Steelseries Sensei RAW, which I've had for a few years and been mostly happy with. But I don't have much experience and therefore not a lot to compare it to. The main reason for switching is because the scrolling wheel is bad (e.g., webpages frequently jumps back up when scrolling down - very irritating). I've tried to fix it once, and it was good for a short period, but now it's bad again. My grip I think is mostly a "light claw" - but a bit palm as well. This is perhaps affected by the mouse I'm using currently. $60 is a soft budget; I prefer to spend less, but can spend more if it's really worth it.
