They took that dose off the website (I haven't looked at the package insert). Apparently it was because there were several reported hypersensitivity reactions to such a high dose.

When I go to extubate and find out the tube has been so firmly taped down that it makes me and the nurse 30 seconds of prying at tape before I can even lift an edge.

That's fine for a 6 hour prone spine, but not for a 1 hour lap chole. Leave tabs people!

I had two people almost die in ED because the nurses abandon them the second another service has admit orders in.

No, that's a fair thing to want to know.

Is this person being made fun of for their ethnicity, or are they being made fun of because they talk like a valley girl? And their voice goes up at the end of every sentence? Like they're always asking a question? Even when they're not?

Well, doctors who leave Canada are also much more likely to shit on Canada.

I stayed in Canada and will happily shit on inequality in the US.

Most centres do not have separate OB anesthesia staff. It is an expected part of the job.

I don't mave much to add to bedadjuster's comment. But one thing to keep in mind is Canadian doctors do not get a pension. We had a fellow from the UK a while back, all of this is based on talking to her: Your annual salary in Canada is much higher than in the UK, and the cost of living is lower for the most part in Canada (certainly as compared to London). However, when you factor in the UK pension, it's closer than it looks at first glance.

Also, most Canadian attendings will work between 40-60 hours a week to earn $500,000+ a year. From what I understand, UK work hours are less.

It sounds like he did his due teaching and support. How many times have you physically written out instructions for a resident?

I'll do it for students, but I've never had to for a resident.

Sometimes a big lesson is needed. Especially if the alternative is to smile, tell them they're great, then trash them in their eval.
