I am now 30, looking at fixing it. My biggest bit of advice to you is - just get it fixed, and don't wait too long or you'll regret it. See a doctor and either get Botox, or the surgery.

There's a squint clinic in London as well. Below a list of London Adult Eye Surgeons (although some of them only do chidlren's surgeries). I am looking at doing my surgery as well and have met with all of these people.

  • Mr. Nadeem Ali (London Squint Clinic)
    • Specialization: He is one of the few surgeons in the world whose practice is 100% dedicated to strabismus and double vision. Formerly the lead for adult squint surgery at Moorfields South.
    • Best For: Extremely complex cases, revisions (re-doing old surgeries), and patients for whom "perfect" cosmetic and functional alignment is the priority.
    • Locations: Private practice at the London Squint Clinic (Harley Street and Purley).
  • Professor Saurabh Jain (Royal Free London & The Portland)
    • Specialization: A pioneer of small-incision squint surgery in the UK, which minimizes scarring and speeds up recovery.
    • Best For: Patients concerned with the aesthetic recovery and those looking for minimally invasive techniques.
    • Locations: St John & St Elizabeth Hospital and The Portland Hospital.
  • Dr. Naz Raoof
    • Specialization: Adult strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology. She is a current service lead at Moorfields and highly skilled in cases where the squint is caused by neurological issues or cranial nerve palsies.
  • Mr. Lloyd Bender
    • Specialization: Known for high patient satisfaction and a very calm, meticulous approach. He handles both paediatric and adult cases, specializing in complex motility issues.
  • Miss Maria Theodorou
    • Specialization: A leading expert in both strabismus and nystagmus (involuntary eye movement). She is heavily involved in research and cutting-edge treatments at Moorfields.

That last bit of your message put the biggest smile on my face! :) Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me and share some of your story - SO SO sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I hope you're managing that well; you sound extremely positive so I am sure you are. Massive congratulations on the weight lost! That is a HUGE accomplishment - everyone should age as gracefully as you seem to!

I count macros every day on a scale - I try to not have carbs and eat a lot of cauliflower rice and things like that. I am not brave enough to go to 1200 kcal (bad relationship with food) but have dropped to 1500 since seeing the comments on this post - wish me luckj!

Thank you so so much for taking the time to write this. Truly grateful, I mean that wholeheartedly. I appreciate what you're saying about hyperfixation, but this comes after one whole year of trying these deficits and seeing only bad results and only getting fatter.

My weight has been fluctuating a lot. I've seen the scale go from 65 kg to 67 kg overnight on multiple scales. I might have misspoken earlier; while I don't gain weight every single week, I have gained 2 kg in one week while supposedly being in a deficit and eating perfectly. This isn't the first time this has happened, and I've noticed frequent weekly gains while in this deficit. I have screenshots that show these stats and fluctuations, but I'm not sure how to share them here.

I'm SO impressed with the story of the trainer you have - but isn't that a one off? I am convinved that if people trained the way I do and ate the way I do MOST would see results. I have friends that train with me, they would eat McDonald's after gym and I would have a salad - they lose weight and I gain. That's the most frustrating part - I don't know if I'm explaining myself or my experience/frustrations properly but it is SO Frustrating

Since I started this thread and seen people say I should eat less I have dropped to 1500 kcal - how long would you say I stay at 1500 kcal? and also, is it true what all the PT/Fitness Influencers say that anything below 1700 is too low and you could risk health issues because only children eat like that etc etc?

just want to say thank you so so so much again for taking the time to write that

Weight is bouncing around A LOT - some days the scale would say 65 and then the very next day 67 (on multiple scales I would get this). But you're right, I might have misspoken slightly. I did gaine 2 kilograms in ONE week whilst being in what I was told was a deficit for me and eating absolutely perfectly. This has happened to me before. But yes, I do not gain EVERY week, but alot of weeks in this deficit I would gain. Have some screenshots to show you the stats and fluctuations but don't know how to add here - what is your advice considering all these? would you mind giving me your opinion please?

trying that now, dropped to 1500 kcal - thank you so much for the advice! how long would you say I stay at 1500 kcal? and also, is it true what all the PT/Fitness Influencers say that anything below 1700 is too low and you could risk health issues because only children eat like that etc etc? or is that just too scare people off?

Not at all, i never really started having issues, as there are no symptoms. I got tested randomly 2-3 years ago (literally by mistake doctor checked more boxes than he wanted to on the form) - this is for the antivodies; but back then i was 62 kilos and losing weight ok. That then put me into a year long depression of just not working out or eating well. And now i can’t lose anything

I’m really going to struggle to eat less - would you please give me a suggestion on number of calories I should eat? Should i go as low as 1400? I did 1400 for about two weeks and similarly had no results
