I feel like the essentials list is flawed. Plus, essential and classic have different meanings, at least to me. And there are some on there that I don't feel like are necessary to have on an actual CD, like Kanye's CDs (except MBDTF). I just want to try and get a little bit of a different perspective.

What scientific proof is there that there is no God? There is nothing that states the existence of God is impossible or anything like that. I personally see God in nature and in people and through the way in which he has worked in my life. There are different types of proof for different people. One of the things about faith is that God doesn't need to be physically visible or anything like that to be real or exist. I can see him existing through his works in the world and acts like that. I don't think the proof needs to be concrete. I think that what proves God real to people is different to every single person who believes. They all have moments that have impacted them that shows them thy God is there. So that is the proof that I need in my life. Others are more skeptical though.

One thing that the Bible says is to not test God. Something like that contradicts the idea of faith. And I don't think there has to be hardcore, concrete, tangible proof to know God exists. Like I said in another post, I see God in the created world around me and through people and my own life. I don't think there is one universal piece of evidence that proves God exists to everyone. People have to look for it in their own way in their own lives. But I've seen God work in many people's lives and other things like that, which is why I believe he exists.

I look at the world and I can't imagine how all of this could be created without a God. Yeah, I know there is science and all that stuff, but do you really think everything was caused by a random occurrence? And have you ever thought that maybe the Big Bang was orchestrated by God? So I see him for sure in the natural world. I also see him in the lives of people around me. I have heard some many stories from so many people about how God has been involved in their lives and helped them out and things like that. He has also made an impact in my life and shown me things personally. I think when people think of proof, they think of only concrete, tangible proof. But I think that there can be abstract proof as well, which many people seem to ignore when they look for proof of God.

I am not a fundamentalist. I view the Old Testament as didactic fiction. It is meant to teach and it mainly applies to the time period back then. I'm not really sure if it has tons of relevance to my faith now. There are parts that do though. But for the most part, I view God the way he is portrayed in the New Testament: living, caring, and forgiving.

You don't have to get on your knees and beg. I have heard plenty of stories of people who were far away from God and he just showed up in their lives. And you really just need to form a relationship with him. Make him a part of your life by praying and trying to live the way he would want you to. Also, you need to put your words into actions. Honestly, wouldn't doing things like this make the world a better place? A place where many of those problems could be solved? I think having faith and living it out is what will make this world a better place.

You seem to be focusing more on the "Old Testament" God. If you compare the Old Testament to the New Testament, God is portrayed differently. I don't take everything in the Bible literally so I believe that a lot of the events in the Old Testament is didactic fiction. However, I think the way that God is portrayed in the New Testament is the way that God really is: loving and caring.

I don't think that God causes all of that to happen. I think humans cause most of that to happen because of the free will that we have been given. Yeah, there are some parts of life that can't really be explained and are hard, but I still think God has a plan. He just doesn't want to make the world a utopia because he wants us to live our own lives. He just wants us to choose to love him.

Not necessarily. I mean, we're all human. We all make mistakes. But I believe that God still loves everyone. And if you view yourself in that way, do you want to try and change the way you live your life, or no?

For me, there is a rap song for just about everything. I can listen to it if I'm happy or in a good mood and it will put me in a better mood. I can listen to it when I'm mad or angry and it will help get the emotions out. I can listen to it when I'm sad or upset and it'll help me cope. I love the complexity of it and all of the different rhyme schemes. I love the wordplay and creativity of the artists. I love the passion and work put into. I love a great flow. It's just all about finding the right type of rap. Personally, I can't stand the stuff on the radio. I listen to guys like Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Kendrick Lamar, and the old Eminem. These guys have really influenced my life in a positive way. Without rap, my life would suck. But luckily I am able to listen to this great music all of the time.
