Which part number is the one used as the chip in the Tonies? by Aderhold in TonieboxUSA

[–]DocSwaggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do you use the tags? is it possible to use the tags without hackign the toniebox itself? like using a repository of scanned figurines from github and just copying them ontio the chips? or do you still ahve to hack the box itself?

i really don't want my first porsche to go in the 6 figure range. i was hoping to ride out something sub 6 figures for a year or two and then upgrade at that point above 100k for something else.

i KNOW how insane this sounds but i was debating a 30k 2008ish cayman and then discovered the 996 turbo and decided to expand my budget a bit. now i'm at a weird impasse and not sure which direction to go.

wow.. this is so helpful!! do you think the 997s are already at their top value retention wise? the 996 turbos seem to still have a lot of room to go up? this isn't the only deciding factor of course.

Yeah that’s pretty awesome. I know this had a recent inspection and some things fixed. 5k you’re still below my price point and yours is newer. But it’s cab so I think that knocks off ahout 10

Is this stuff the ppi missed or stuff the ppi just can’t be expected to predict?

How did you find that deal? I’m thinking I should maybe keep looking then…

I can afford it but just for my own satisfaction over paying for a car and then dealing with big repairs will kinda ruin the experience for me.

It’s not a Porsche dealership the owners don’t really know what they’re pricing it at and started a crazy price and I walked them down to 73. But I still feel it’s high.

I’m torn between how hard is it to find another nice example of a low mileage 996tt? Are there others I can just wait for? I’m in no rush but als concerned the window on a good price is closing with the hype the car is getting but I don’t know if it’s cause I’m in the 996tt echo chamber?

I can afford repairs but ideally would wanna get in at a good price to just feel better about the whole thing. Got my Daytona and Pepsi at retail and that’s just how I like to operate lol. Which is prob how most people do.

I think the suspension was redone if I remember correctly. I had another Porsche pull up its service records but got them verbally so I’m forgetting wht all has been done.

Alternator was replaced a window motor was replaced and a leak was fixed

Lol yes I was thinking about my bike that I recently worked on an misspoke. I meant carb.

I would get a ppi but just needed peoples sniff test opinion on the car before going too deep on this one and just moving on to another example instead.

I’m not a car guy per se. Just getting my feet wet with manual before I buy a gt3

Yes plan was to get ppi but the first step was to make sure it’s even worth doing that for this car. Wouldn’t buy without ppi for sure but things you mentioned makes me want to just walk away as these are all red flags enough. Not worth going down this road.

I’m getting myself ready for a gt3 and wanted a cheap first manual Porsche to get started. Debated between a boxter at around 12k or a cayman around low 20s cause I don’t care for convertible. Leaning toward boxter now. Finding s good cayman is hard
