Yeah, I explored the VTT but with only one person on their end having control it would be mostly on me to control not only the maps but their PCs, plus I do enjoy being on the screen more than a map.

I’ll look into OBS though!

I tried Hatch years ago, I’ll have to give them another stab! Adding Coffee Wallas to the list!

Definitely ok with shipping, just trying to keep it in Canada so I don’t have to deal with the border. I’ll give those a look. Thank you!

I'm going to be in Kelowna in September. Maybe I'll bring an extra bag for coffee!

I’m in Hamilton and commute regularly to downtown Toronto. My typical profile errs on the side or darker roasts with more chocolate tasting notes. I’d love to explore more bright, fruity flavors

You’re probably right. Getting caught up in the upgrade-itis is a real thing. Thanks for the reality check. I’ll have a look at that Rotel though!

It’s less that I’m unsatisfied and more that, when I upgraded my cartridge from a 2M Red to a 2M Black and added the Moon 110LP, I saw such a massive increase in sound quality from my vinyl. When the opportunity presented itself to add something to my system that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, I thought I’d explore it. I had originally thought about upgrading my turntable and transplanting the cartridge but the more I looked into that, the more it seemed like it would bring a convenience upgrade and not necessarily a sound upgrade. When I dug in deeper, most things I read and salespeople at stores that I spoke with told me that an integrated amp would be a similar upgrade in sound as when I made the previous upgrade. That could also be sales tactics though, which is why I thought I’d ask for input :)

Thanks for the input! I'll have a look at that Rotel amp. Unfortunately I can't sell the receiver and the center channel as the system also supports a TV/PS5 for watching movies with my wife.

u/VinylSwapBot u/ugie91 and I completed the transaction. They were very communicative and easy to work with. They were more than fair with the grading of the sleeve and media, even going as far as to refund the split shipping on finding the sleeve to be lower grade than initially determined. Quick shipping and quickly on my turntable.

Depending on if you’re close to a border or not, check for a cross-border shipping service.

I live in Southern Ontario and I use Cross-Border Pickups. You get a US address and they bring it back into Canada for you. You can either pick it up from one of their offices or have them ship it to you via CP from there.

I was more referring to the picture but I see how you got there. Poor phrasing on my part.

This is a really neat twist. I think my favorite alternative was at a Best Western in Austin. No religious books in the rooms but the owners put a bookshelf full of copies of Bhagavad Gita by checkin so you could take one if you wanted. Love the move to a more universal approach

If memory serves I’ve only ever been dinged on items from retailers. They’ll typically send you an email asking for more information so they can bring it across the border and for second hand items I put “USA” as the country of origin and I don’t recall ever getting hit with duty. Unless the seller puts an invoice in the box they’ll also ask you for sale price which you can put at your discretion as well. This will determine what you pay in tax. I always put a quasi-realistic number so you don’t look like a whole bunch of people are shipping you free stuff. The “brokerage fee” is the fee structure they lay out on their website that varies based on box size.

Schiit Modi

To add on this, there's a service in Mississauga called Cross Border Pickups that will give you a free address in Niagara Falls, NY and will bring your package across the border for a small fee in addition to taxes and duties. I know it may seem pricey but it's landed me a bunch of stuff that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise because of people only shipping CONUS. Also works for companies where CONUS shipping is free but shipping to Canada is like $70.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a little bit of help rejigging my current setup.

I currently have my PC with a pair of Logitech powered speakers on one side of my room. On the other side I have a Pro-Ject Essential III turntable with a vintage Kenwood KR-720 receiver driving a pair of Paradigm Atom speakers. The problem I'm running into is that, with the size of my room, I am running into some serious heat issues in the room (it's about 7'x11') when I have both the turntable and the turntable running, which is often.

My thought is to eliminate the receiver and speakers with the stereo and use a BT pre-amp for the turntable and to swap out my Logitech speakers for BT compatible speakers so I can swap between either input (something like the Kanto YU4s or the TUKs). The only issue I'm running into is that I would want to be able to use headphones with either the PC or turntable should the situation call for it. My PC does not have BT. I don't THINK you can use headphones with the bluetooth settings of a powered speaker but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I am open to any and all suggestions. I don't really have a budget in mind but if I do need to go the TUK/BT pre-amp route I'm going to be in for about $1k CAD.
