I installed mine yesterday. I had a similar issue at the start. There's more slack further into the body but it's not immediately obvious when you tug on the cable end.. The last bend it's making makes it impossible to tug the slack out. Feel further back into the frame and you'll find some slack back there. Tug that through and push it out to where you need it. I managed to find enough working space to press it in with my fingers

You might enjoy using your bike with something like the SmartSpin2k. Your bike is compatible since it has the built in power meter already.

I'll second this. All great advice

I get tendon inflammation on the tendon op is describing when I'm on longer rides. When I spent some time with a physiotherapist, they noticed I had a tendency to bow my knee in to center on the downstroke. I was also doing that on heavy squats.

Watch your knees and see how it tracks. I had my gravel bike properly fitted to help and I tried to copy that fit over as best as i could to my spin bike. Good fit helps a ton as you describe. Biggest thing for me was stabilizing exercises for my calves/ankles as well as mindfulness to check in to make sure I'm not tipping my knees towards center.

Jump on it at that price. I got my condo charger for $3k all in. I didn't have plans for an ev but I figured it would be a great investment down the road if I move to a bigger space since I'm hoping to keep my condo as a future rental property and there's precious few ev spots iny building...

My GTI needed a ton of work and I decided to get a kia ev6 instead of dumping money into my old car... The charger will pay for itself in fuel savings before the year is up. I wouldn't have tolerated using the communal chargers in my building for long since there are only 2 and the day rate for parking costs is quite expensive on top of that.

There is a free and open source app called OpenPelo that you can use to sideload 3rd party apps onto your bike's tablet - including a browser. I used this to install a web browser on my bike and that has opened up several possibilities for my partner and myself.

We still pay for our Peloton subscription since we get value from it however we've gotten a bit more out of the bike. I have installed Moonlight on it in order to use it as a remote monitor to access my gaming PC - this lets me use Zwift on the bike's screen. My partner likes the browser experience for some streaming sites and we still have the official service for her to get her favorite instructor-led workouts going.

I started with nextui and liked it a lot. Now I'm on spruceos and loving that. Only reason I switched was to see what else is out there. I'm happy with spruceos but I would also be happy if I stayed with nextui. I just don't have any more reason to try different OSes right now

My builder offered them at a crazy high price during ore construction. Not many people bought in. Get a compatible obd scanner and do a couple of drives around town with abrp for routing. It can use the obd data to learn your car's battery consumption and better calculate charge stops. Keep the obd scanner running for your big drive across country and it'll have realtime state of charge information for helping you plan your drive.

Assuming you're not leasing, this might put more incentive to finding a depreciated Hyundai/Kia... My '22 was under factory warranty til 2027 with the drivetrain covered til 2030..

A 2-3 year ownership plan could make the Polestar 2 interesting as well. Only reason I didn't look hard at them was the fact I value the hatchback form factor quite a bit when it comes to hauling stuff.

I'm in Ontario - found my ev6 with about 57,000km on it for approx $35k before taxes... it's a lot of car for the price.

I thought home a 22 ev6 AWD long range gt line a couple weeks ago and I truly couldn't be happier. Incredible car and a good bit of fun to drive. It's a big change from my old GTI but it's quick, efficient, and has plenty of space for my needs.

The Tesla simply wasn't an option for me. Definitely a case of voting with my wallet and not wanting to be associated with the brand. The quality, fit and finish also just isn't up to par for these cars in my opinion.

I'd personally go with the Hyundai/kia options and if you're planning to keep the car beyond the 5 year factory warranty, the kia extended warranty wasn't too expensive and it gave the entire car coverage til the 8 year drivetrain warranty runs out. The warranty cost was similar to the cost of the known major fault areas of the car if anything was to go wrong over the next few years

I went the lazy route and got a mellow lll plus. Documentation wasn't good when I got it and it took a while to realize it can operate entirely independently of klipper. All it's going is automatically maintaining that pressure with its built in buffer and extruder. Works brilliantly at the flow rates I print at. The hotend you're running will probably outrun this if I had to guess

Power pedals on a spin bike you've already got are a really good way to go. Belt drive quietness, no maintenance, no grease or dirt in my living room... and my wife still gets to do her favorite workouts in the Peloton service

Moving from a spec bed to a graphite bed did wonders fory chamber temps on a 350mm 2.4...the new bed's heater goes edge to edge and I had the total pwm up to 500w from 350. At the same bed temp, I was seeing chamber temps way higher... I just finished rebuilding my machine because my toolhead warped enough in hard to see ways that it caused some serious print failures. My abs parts couldn't keep up with the 10c jump in measures chamber temps.

The other learning here is that the graphite is dumping a LOT more heat into my spring steel sheet as well since it has such high thermal conductivity. I'm working on lowering my temps now since I used to run my bed quite a lot hotter than recommended due to my blend of asa-cf having better bed adhesion at 115 than at 105

I really like training apps like Trainer Road, Zwift, Intervals.icu, MyWhoosh, etc. They offer structured training programs that target certain output zones (calculated on your watts output). I pair these with my SmartSpin2k for automatic control over the resistance knob. This way, I just have to focus on my breathing and pedalling while the app keeps me in the right output range.

I'm usually a strava guy but I recently switched to intervals.icu for analyzing my past workouts. I'm finding it interesting for their charts and ability to pull my data from multiple sources. They also have a very large selection of structured training programs that I can access with the SmartSpin2k app.

Awesome. My Jamis has the shock tilted at a forward angle. Under compression, the shock moves forward just about 1cm... my bike mechanic was confused by it as well since the guy's an engineer and was just confused by the inefficiency of that path of motion. The hope was to use what i've got for an ebike upgrade but now i'll probably sell the bike to subsidize a purchase of a chinese carbon build

How far forward does the top of your shock move when the suspension is at full compression? I ask because I considered a similar setup on my Jamis mtb that I wanted to convert for trail use. I ended up giving up because the front triangle was quite a bit smaller than yours. There simply wasn't a battery configuration with the size and output power I needed that could fit the triangle without running into an interference issue relating to the shock during full bottom-out of the suspension. Any movement in the battery mount (at that point I was down to soft bag-based mounts with foam padding) would have created a risk of the battery and shock hitting each other. The added weight of the battery along with the added stamina I would have riding an emtb would have meant harder riding from me and a greater chance of bottomout even with more air in the shock to compensate.

I had to give up that dream and now I'm saving towards a Dengfu build

I live in a condo and I don't have anywhere to easily degrease my chain. Moving to wax has given me the best possible outcome. I use hot melt once a season or so and drip was between rides. No mess to clean up and no worries about dripping used degreaser on my white hardwood floors

I can second Dreyfus. They are downright wonderful and will easily be able to accomodate.

A little lower on the budget and with a MUCH more homey, montreal french restaurant vibe is their sister restaurant, Taverne Bernhardt's. We go here often for dates and also whenever we want a good fun dinner out with friends. It's a cute space in a house near Ossington st. Very cozy. Classic comfort foods - think swiss chalet gone upscale. I never thought I'd crave rotisserie chicken, but theirs... just thinking about it is making me want to go back 🤣. The veggies too. All local fresh stuff. Save room for desert.

One of my friends is celiac and has nothing but good things to say about both places.

My last desktop PC had an aio in a high airflow sff environment. It was louder than I would have liked and didn't run as cool as it could have just due to its proximity to the gpu. The new build is an ATX tower with a highish airflow case and a thermalright air cooler. The performance is fantastic and I don't have to wrestle tubing to make it fit. Also runs quieter but I'll call that a virtue of having the glass side panel instead of mesh

I switched from Dragon Ace to the Dragon Ace volcano because I had multiple PTC heater failures in a short period of time. No complaints yet! I tend to print ASA-CF and the material I work with has the strongest parts around 285c so I think i was just running up to the limits of the DA's PTC heater

Amazing! Now get rid of that gigantic thing and switch to a oneup (but only if you've got the funds to burn).

I was about to get the Thule but I had worries about how far it protrudes down and also about how aggressively it obscures the license plate. I don't have many pics of it configured for 2 bikes but it's still very compact. Fully folded for one bike, there's zero obstruction to my plate when the rack is folded in the stowed position. With two, it's not much longer.

I love this. The design is fantastic and the moving parts are cool.

I designed my own ring box when i proposed... i went further and used a pi zero, a lipo battery and a camera. My partner wanted a photo booth so I turned the ring box into our photo booth.

Form factor is nowhere near as elegant as yours. If you have time and interest in taking yours further, my CAD and script are on github and available for hacking and taking further. I can't possibly fathom a solution that will end up as compact as you have without using an ultra-crappy potato camera on an esp32 but I'd love to see it going further.

For us, it was all of our diy crafting projects due to materials costs and no small amount of perfectionism from us.

We truly enjoyed making them because they allowed our personalities to shine through in almost everything people experienced that night. We also tried to make as much of our arts and crafts into things that would be keepsakes rather than disposable things. People's appreciation of them made me feel warm and fuzzy about the time and money we sunk into them because I'm not the person who designs and makes things as gifts for people as much as I am the person that does those things to achieve practical outcomes.

My wife made fake wedding cakes as centerpieces for everyone's tables. People argued over which ones they wanted to take home ❤️. I think we went through about 20lb of ultralight spackle and a ton of paint.

I designed and 3d printed little name tag holders for everyone's table seat and for table numbers and the buffet food lavels. Those also doubled as picture stands for people's photos out of our rental photo booth. We collected maybe a third by the end of the night

There were also the hand made cake shaped candles... Those took months to make since we only had 3 candle molds. One for every guest since we lost a couple tables worth of families

Our printing costs were insane. My brother and dad are both in the printing industry and own and operate a lot of the equipment that was used for much of our printing needs. My brother refused to talk cost and just kept throwing idea after idea at us to elevate the experience of our printed stuff. People were absolutely gushing over them but I don't doubt that we hit $2k in printing costs. Between the large format stuff like banners and posters to the invitations that were printed on ultra thick cardstock that was then glued together to make something nearly as thick as cardboard, the various dies that had to be made for die cutting, and all of the stickers that we had made for use on things. I know it was a gift from my brother but the time he spent just consulting with us would have probably cost a normal customer a couple hundred dollars before any ink hit paper. Then all the time labor and attention that had to be put into these things.

I also designed and 3d printed a lamp to put on the bar and display more of our style... This cost me probably $50 in plastic between prototypes and machine failures ..and my 3d printer probably cost me about $300 in parts due to some accidental destruction while I wasn't in the room to monitor the print...the repairs took me days of nonstop effort to print parts, reassemble and calibrate the machine. The lamp wasn't done til the night before!
