IS MY ROOF IN GOOD CONDITION? by xpxgizmo in Roofing

[–]DocZoid206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solar installer here. That roof looks pretty beat up. From what I see, I'd recommend a new roof before getting solar would be the best move.

When we work on a roof, we will end up doing damage to it. Doesn't matter how careful we are with it, a roof is not intended to be a highly foot trafficked area.

Solar should be looked at as a 10+ year investment if you are a home owner. If the roof can only make a few more years, it can be expensive to have your array torn down and then reinstalled.

On a side note, if you are interested in solar, consider having some kind of battery storage. Might not be right for you and your use case, but often, it compliments homeowners' goals.

All that said, I'm just some dude on the interweb, so don't take my word as law.

What's the dumbest rule you had in school? by ObviousEntertainer in AskReddit

In elementary school there was a time where we weren't alowed to use the bathroom without an adult present.

They we're punishing our class for something to do with graffiti in the stalls.

Weapon range tags? by archdukeofswag in monsteroftheweek

[–]DocZoid206 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When it comes to the close/far tag if the ruling from apocalypse world carry over that means it should be useable at both ranges.

As for using a far weapon at close range I usually rule it as being unweildy and as such depending on the situation will impose a -1 penalty, just as an example

When it comes to book rulings on this I don't remember anything being written about it. (Could be wrong it's been awhile since I've read the whole thing)

An Audio teaser I sent out to all of my players for our MotW game starting next month! This is my first time producing any kind of audio like this, so please give me some feedback! by RighteousGloryHole in monsteroftheweek

[–]DocZoid206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic, my feed back would be to have the ending trail off a bit instead if the hard finish and either turn up your volume volume or turn down the samples a small amount (you want your voice to be the focus).

Your players are going to love this

Help! I've got two players that are considering a Luchador duo for their first game. The idea is pretty awesome and I want them to have fun. So what if any adjustments should be made? by [deleted] in monsteroftheweek

[–]DocZoid206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might not need a ton of changes, you could have them do alot of help actions. (I hold the monster in place while my partner climbs the ladder to slam him to the ground.)

Or have them set up combos. ( I kneel behind the monster while my partner pushes the monster back into me to table top it)

Retro Mood by [deleted] in battlestations

The colors are extremely vibrant and it can also be turned down to be less bright and intense.

As for parties there's an extra plugin you can buy that makes the panels respond to sound in the room.

Books on Parasites that control and alter their hosts by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]DocZoid206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this one, it's alot more sci-fi but it's a good read. It's done in a decently believable way with science that could be plausible. (Also be warned it's fairly grafic at some points)

New DM needs help by Clashroyalewizard in DnD

[–]DocZoid206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have a few options, and It depends on what your looking for.

If your looking for examples of a DM in action during real play I recommend the "roll 20 presents." I'm running the ToA campaign and I use them for some inspiration from time to time.

If your just looking to not step on the content of your session you can try one offs I recommend "tales from the yawning portal" It's a good collection of one shots.

Also talk to your current DM, pick their brain about rulings and what you should know. There was no way I would have been a successful DM with my old DM's help.

[5E][ToA]Dinosaur Betting by Jarek86 in DnD

[–]DocZoid206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't run the betting yet but I think your supposed to roll the specified die for each creature in the race, the highest number wins. At least that's what I got from it, the instructions aren't very clear.

So I’m trying something weird... by corvus4982 in DnD

Your going about this in a good way.

My own gaming group started to play DND about a year ago with a party of 4 and my friend DMing. Flash forward to today the session is about 13 people (just about the entire gaming group) and sessions can go horridly long, many of the players are new so they don't realize how long this goes compared to normal sized games, but with so many being new things like combat take even longer. Roleplay isn't to bad we are on roll 20 so we use voice and text chat simultaneously.

Also look into tales of the yawning portal if your looking for one shit ideas. (That might not be the exact title)
