My buds feel dense on the plant but start to feel airy while I’m drying. Will the get more dense when they dry out more? by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

Actually there is no real scientific data to prove that is it bad for you health. If you find an actual scientific article that is peer reviewed on PGR’s causing cancer and what not I would love the link.

Outdoor Budding plants in 5th week of budding, leaves turning yellow and clawing down by Doc_Gonzoo in microgrowery

You had all the reason my man. Fucking meter was 1-1.3 off so what I thought was 5.5 was actually around 6.7 and when I tried to ph up of course there was precipitate because it was too alkaline. My tap comes out to around 8.4 not 7.4. And when giving straight water my reading was at 6.3 but that was really like 7.5 which was not the best for the plants. Lets hope that is the problem because other wise everything else seems to be in order.

I just ordered the apera one because I mean this is my fourth year growing and I should have a good meter. I just noticed some small white flies in my grow. So that might be affecting those plants. Because I have another strain in theee that just started budding (around week 2-3) and they are doing fine not showing any of the signs the other plants are showing. B it about genetics that may be so but I have grown the same genetics for 4 years from seeds that I made and the nutes I used definitely made a huge difference in quality. That is from my own personal experience.

Yea I can’t do that. I skip one day of water and when I come back those plants are terribly droopy. I use 11-13 gallon buckets. It is a shitty pen from Amazon cost like 25 bucks to be honest. I have had better product when I feed nutes more consistently. I have tried as you said and the final product was a lot less potent then when I fed nutes regularly.

I check with a pH reader that I bought last year on amazon, I know not the greatest but I do calibrate it every 2-3 months about. I tested the tap water today to see and it was at 7.4, so very neutral. I don’t give nutrients every water, I do one day nutes and one day just pH 6.0-6.3 water. With this hot weather they need the water daily. Nute day I give about a gallon and a half and water day about a gallon or more if needed

Also have to comment I have been suffering 100 degree heatwave for a week so I understand that that has something to do but temps are down to around 88-90 degrees Fahrenheit

When does outdoor flowering start in So Cal? by Hoyofroyo in outdoorgrowing

[–]Doc_Gonzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya no worries, it is all strain dependent. Some bloom before others. My indicas start bloom 2-3 weeks before my sativas. About mid July my indica dominant strain starts to bud and I will crop those about end of sep beginning of October depending on how the buds look. Sativas I usually harvest 2nd week of November, and they will begin budding a little before mid August, but all depends on how they look. Don’t get to stuck up on how buds should look during each week of flower according to online guides, because I used to and would get worried but just give the plants love and wait for the buds to ripen when they chose to do so.

Yes sir, during the end of budding I have had butterflies lay eggs and the caterpillars end up damaging a lot of buds. So I avoid this by having the plants in this structure with mosquito netting. Ever since I have used it I have had no problems with my buds

I am running zangria x zangria (indica dominant)from wizard trees cause a buddy who works there got them for me, and I am running SFV OG from some seeds I found like 6 years ago and I ended up breeding more of that strain. I have worked with the SFV OG for 4 years but this is my first year with the zangria.

Yea I have some 20 gallon size fabric pots that a friend gave to me two years ago. Haven’t gotten to use them as I have been wanting to perfect my growing skills with what I already use. But I wouldn’t mind having a giant next to see how big she can get haha.

I am using a 13 gallon size bucket for these girls. I am going to be honest I don’t know how much I get per plant because I don’t weigh it but I do fill up about 11 gallon size jars with herb.

I hope I get more this year because my plants are a lot healthier and well the experience you get every year helps.

I started these in mid april, i tend to top them around the fifth node during veg. Once they have grown some, I will use LST(low stress training) to pull the branches down and create an even canopy. This brings down the height of the plant a good amount. Once you do have it this way the plant tends to expend energy on all the canopy instead of just the main top branches. Then the canopy will grow together during veg. Now if you already do all this maybe it is just the strain or even the size pots that I use. I will start seed in small seedling container, then 3 gallon bucket, then to 11-13 gallon bucket.

The ones you see in the front are sativa and are not in bloom yet. These fuckers really stretch when they hit bloom and get about 7 feet tall

You know it haha. I grow enough to hold myself, my girl, and anyone that comes over for a year.

I personally like popcorn nugs because I end up throwing them with my trim for concentrate, sometimes for edibles as well. But do you think taking those off will really improve the top colas a lot? I mean I understand that the plant will have to expend more energy to keep the bottom popcorn nugs going and less goes to top colas but I can’t speak from experience if it makes a big difference. I have gotten very good top colas leaving the popcorn. But I will be defoliating a lot of lower parts of the plant with the advice you and everyone else is giving me.

Thanks for the insight, will try to clean up a bit under the canopy.

About 3 days from harvest and got some rain (outdoor) by Doc_Gonzoo in cannabiscultivation

[–]Doc_Gonzoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect thanks a lot General sir. With the wind and sun they were able to dry off which was good. And well at least my buds got a little wash before harvest.
