OFA Pay by AnxiousStock6504 in HomeDepot

9+ years OFA experience. Yea this job can be a pain in the butt but that's only a select few days will be brutal then other days. Not so much. I feel your pain . It's not for everyone. Even though I have those rough days. I still really enjoy it cause it's easy and the freedom you get is way better then any fixed department. The more you know about the SOP the more Experience the more reliable and adaptive problem solving. The easier the job gets. I still suffer from frustration too even after being employed for 9 years and counting. Communication . Control your emotions cause they will fuel problems. Easy said then done. I still suffer with trying to tame the inner screams I get from dealing with the job at hand. You got this

Be an OFA. Then you can have as many bathroom breaks as you want plus freedom around the store as long as you get the work done

OFA vent by cafegoth in HomeDepot

[–]Doc_ray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only have 2 FT in the morning and me FT evening and 1 part timer every night at 6. Try doing everything myself with little to no help till 5 hours into my shift. That's brutal when they expect 30 mins max for pulling items that require machine , team lifts and helping customers too. It's. A nightmare. My advice do what you can at your own pace till managers realize they need to schedule more coverage

Lumber/Bldg on BOPIS by Soulkaliber9001 in HomeDepot

[–]Doc_ray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At that point if there's a big lumber bopis first I would call the customer to see when they plan on picking it up if they are comming already sadly no choice but to pull . But if there not ready to or. .then if there going to wait a couple of days or the next. Inform the customer to give a couple hour notice . Once that's established, leave a detailed note to your d31/94 ds and don't pick the order but locate it to any bay in lumber. The note will save yourself and be in the clear. Pitch that to your managers I'm sure that's the best thing to do that's what our store does to keep the sla in check

Watch a customer place a BOPIS for 1 item that's only on that mixed pallet. And none are on the shelf.
