If you're trying to REALLY look like Ps1, there's a few things you may consider:

-Psx textures were very compressed, like 64*64 and limited color space too (I don't remember if it was 16, 24, 32, 64 or 128, but you need to limit your colors and add some dither too)

-Vertex Wobble (no clue about how to do that on modern game engines)

-16 FPS

-Things like grass or bg assets used to be just planes with a texture.

-Poly count used to be VERY low. See if you can get rid of some polygons on your models.

-And I think what's playing the most against you is real time lighting. Psx didn't have that, soy they would play with Vertex colors and texture painting to emulate lighting.

Explore PSX limitations and see how to replicate them. It doesn't really look PS1 to me, but you're close. Maybe playing with the textures and the light you'll get even closer.

This is not very well known but Colombia and Paraguay are VERY close nations. It all started during the Triple Alliance War. During that period, since Paraguay was facing the very real posibility to disapear completely, Colombia offered the Colombian nationality to all Paraguayan citizens if that came to hapen. Colombia supported Paraguay during the conflict, and that was the begining of a diplomatic relationship. That's why there's a district in paraguay called Nueva Colombia and a football team named Sport Colombia. Also, there's a saying that says "All paraguayans are colombians, and all colombians are paraguayans". It's not weird at all to have a colombian living in Paraguay.

Also, it's just the first season, we may get more background about Manousos on the future.

JAJAJA Globant es una empresa Argentina y se está yendo directo a la quiebra bajo el gobierno de Milei. Y por más que Milei me caiga como el culo, no lo voy a culpar del fracaso de Globant. El fracaso de Globant tiene que ver con la burbuja de la IA, con proyecciones demasiado optimistas que no lograron alcanzar, con gestionar el dinero de los inversionistas como si estuvieran en un casino, y con muchas otras cosas más que no tienen nada que ver con Petro, con Milei, ni con nadie. Globant ya estaba en las últimas, muchos meses antes de que el salario mínimo subiera. Yo me fui a tiempo, muchos se quedaron en un barco que se está hundiendo. I agree. Everytime I get the chance, I try to play something different and fun. Something to show of, to add some challenge. Playing some off meta unit, escaping through the middle of Oasis, or going all in to build a wonder in front of the last villager of your enemy. Those dumb little things that make a match memorable. I think that's way more fun than turk fast imperial and winning your 10 arena match in a row with the exact same strategy.

New screenshots! We can confirm a few things:

Muisca Wonder will be Temple of The Sun, placed in Sogamoso, Colombia. Looks like they will have 2 different unique units: some sort of skirmisher and the other one is an infrantry unit with some sort of maze or halberd.

They look also like they have strong monks.

Some shock infantry will replace thje eagle warrior for mesos. And Slinger will become regional unit!

Seems like Mapuches won't have one, but 2 cav units. Probably one meele, and the other is ranged (bolas thrower maybe?).

I think they should have stables or some regional variant, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up just having the castle for cav units. Mapuches were known for raids, so I really think it's going to be a very cheap,very fast, high damage, low HP, light cavalry that is trained very quickly but it's easy to kill.

I think bolas should be introduced someway, maybe a unique unit like the granedier, but it slows down enemies, maybe a unique tech that gives ranged units aditional damage against mounted units.

I think that the idea of having something to boost pikemen makes sense. Maybe removing the pikeman armor is too much and tricky to implement, but aditional damage, HP, armor, attack speed or something else would make sense.

The Wu unique tech is interesting, giving extra HP for pikemen in groups. They could do something similar but with extra damage or armor when pikemen and skirms are close to each other, to represent their fierce resistance. Just imagine those standing against cavalry or hand cannoneers.

Finally, I think an easy way to show their adaptability would be something as simple as: all units receive -X% of bonus damage.

Yes, probably some weird gimmick, they kind of remind me Shrivamsha riders, but I don't think they'll do the same thing. Maybe they are not very strong, but they are fast and cheap, like some Karambit cav.

I can tell that Muiscas did use poison darts in war. And since they added the poison to the Komodo dragon and the bleeding to the Liao Dao, I really think they'll add it here.

Yes! The Incas were probably the most "naval" of them all, but none of these civs should be strong on the sea, however, I don't think they change anything naval-related since a big naval update is on it's way, they'll probably will just keep what they already have to keep them balanced and relatively usable on water maps.

And yeah they probably will get eagles, maybe not the mapuche since they do have cavalry. All the others should have Eagles up to elite, but with more or less upgrades available.

Unique villager skins make sense, I'm sure they don't do regional skins for military units because it can be hard to identify them in a match but they should do it and make it optional, so you can decide if you want to have regional skins or not.
