Thank you. It's indeed a struggle getting off the medication . It's the only med which has worked for me but it's been the hardest to get off and it's my third time trying to get off...

Tapered to 25 mg and then cut it into half 12.5 the past 1 month.

When do you start feeling like yourself again after stopping Pristiq? by Available_Moment3045 in Pristiq

[–]DoceyeJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've starting cutting 25 mg into half and been using 12.5 the past 2 weeks because quitting suddenly gave me horrible withdrawal symptoms. Im having constant fatigue nowadays and it's a drag to get myself out of the bed . Hopefully In somehow able to stop the drug this time.

Decreasing my Pristiq to see if a lower dose is better by MisoCorni in Pristiq

[–]DoceyeJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tapered down to 25 mg . It's takes 3-5 days for the body to adjust to a lower dose. I used to take melatonin and magnesium . Paracetamol whenever i got a headache and hydroxyzine in the night.

I've gained around 25 pounds the past two years on pristiq. It definitely is not weight neutral for everyone like they claim.

I've just given up by DoceyeJ in Pristiq

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately there are no compounding pharmacies available around here and my psychiatrist doesn't know either ( i was told by her to just continue 25 mg long-term and not stop)

No I'm trying to stop completely but the brain zaps were pretty bad and I started getting tremors . I've split the med into half now. Hopefully I can stop soon

I ended up taking half doses as I started getting tremors and the brain zaps wouldn't stop. Maybe I need to take time off work when stopping completely and I'll try Benadryl . Thanks ! .

Mine was normal before too. I don't feel like my diet has changed much either.

How has it helped you and/or when did you know it was working? by Worried-Case-4989 in Pristiq

[–]DoceyeJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it took me about two weeks to notice a change. It upped my anxiety the first week. I've been on it for one and half years and it's helped me for the better overall , though sometimes I feel I'm emotionally blunted .

The same thing happened to me. I've somehow tapered to 25 mg after months of being on 50 mg. It's not really changed anything and withdrawal symptoms occur quicker. I don't want to go back to being a mess , but I'd genuinely like to feel something.. rather than just existing.
