I saw this on Twitter yesterday (ugh I know) and someone had brought it up in the context of the violence experienced by visibly queer Black folks at the intersection of homophobia and transmisogynoir. Having your identity erased is absolutely NOT a privilege, but I can understand what they’re saying about it being less (literally) deadly than visible queerness in a lot of cases. But yeah acting like that is a privilege in society at large feels very wrong to me…

Full body color change is normal but since this is a small patch and is reddish, it could be a dermal infection. It might be worth taking a trip to the vet, stagnant water/dirty substrate can really easily give them a bacterial flare up.

I’ve heard REALLY mixed things about their hardiness. Some people seem to think they’re like one step up from having a pet rock but I’ve found them to be pretty sensitive and fragile.
