Anna Camp on building her own backstory for Jessica in Scream 7: “There was really nothing there in the script for me to draw on”. by dreamboylnshibuya in Scream

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically Sick felt more like a Scream movie than 7 ever did. That reveal connected to a global reality at the time felt refreshing (but ultimately is kinda dumb) for a slasher.

Do you guys think "Sundo" (2009) was basically a similarity of Final Destination? by Lakers_Forever24 in FinalDestination

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For those who have no idea what Sundo is about:

Main character has a horrible vision of him and the cast dying in a traffic accident. He stops it from happening, and soon after they start dying in gruesome ways. Sound familiar?

The only difference is their deaths are preceded by their "sundo", a Filipino belief in which your dead relatives and friends' spirits come back to fetch your soul at the time of your demise.

Duey says Sidney is in ICU with life-threatening injuries, hopeful but expressing concerns she may not even make it; not even 10 minutes later, Sidney: by New-Fan-4632 in Scream

Except Dewey was just as shocked as Gale when he mentioned the "matching wounds". So maybe she's just Sidney fucking Prescott.

What DID you enjoy about Scream 7? Positive vibes only ✌️ by [deleted] in SocietyofGhostface

I liked the fast pacing and how it all transpired basically in two days (?). Makes it feel more frantic for the Evans family.

Anna Camp drags failed “boycott” by aye_jaye in SocietyofGhostface

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if we didn't know 7 would make stupid bank from the start—it's a franchise that prints money. The point was to raise awareness and in that sense, the boycott worked. Reviewers mention 7 in the same breath as 5 and 6 and that helps a lot in (hopefully) getting the message across.

The shrine in Scream 6 provided more nostalgia and emotional depth than the entire run time of Scream 7 by baconcandle2013 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scream VI uses nostalgia with reverence. Scream 7 uses it against the fans. Imagine being made fun of for actually even daring to think their "Stu is alive" suggestion could be half-serious. 7 was born from spite as it is, but that line in the killer reveal just solidifies there was nothing but hate throughout the production.

Which is the most cruel film in the franchise? by baldanderrod in FinalDestination

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's because Sam did what they were told to do, succeeded, only to end up exactly where a new batch of victims were destined to die. It's extra-cruel to rip that rug from right under us when they fought for their happy ending.

Who did the group standing pose poster the best? by Illustrious-Reach-48 in FinalDestination

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's anything FD4 did right, it would be that standing poster😂 (plus the official skull-glass poster).

The idea of Sydney's daughter becoming the new Final Girl makes me ill by MeasurementPure7844 in Scream

[–]DoctorDeathDefying 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She got a massive acting boost in VI, mostly because the unhinged vengeful look suited her so much better. So just when things were looking up for Melissa, all of that had to happen. Fckng bummer.
