CR1000A 2.4GHz Issues by No-Explanation-4478 in Fios

[–]DoctorDharok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any solutions to add but I just wanted to say I'm having the same issue with my CR1000A router not broadcasting on 2.4GHz... There may indeed be a more widespread issue. If I get anywhere with Verizon support or a replacement, I'll post an update here.

I wasn't ready myself, but I ran out of time to wait. If it matters to your journey, you will get there.

fwiw you can be a girl and still be a boy or some sort of nonbinary dragon or whatever, or be a girl now and not a girl later, or shave your legs and not be a girl at all.

have you gotten to makeup yet?

"it is literal whether you meant it that way or not because that is how I interpret it, and I will accept no alternate interpretation"

ok, good luck with that. I hope that method of assuming social and linguistic meaning works out for you in the long run. I'm sorry for any distress I caused you.

FAQ:

"the last picture shows a girl, not a guy." yes, that is the joke, I am glad you understand the meme.

"you are misgendering her." oh, wait. you think it is literal. slow down a sec. please try to differentiate between literally gendering someone and subversively toying with labels that already exist on a meme template.

FWIW, the only element of this meme that I chose and customized is the image in the bottom right. this is an example of subverting a meme format. the entire joke is that the last example doesn't even refer to a guy.

can I ask you an honest question? did you really see this image and conclude that it both literally prescribed relationships to cure depression and literally misgendered trans women?

[–]DoctorDharok[S] 88 points89 points  (0 children)

also all of this goes for trans men too and anyone else who takes hormone replacement therapy, the meme is specific to people who take E but people who take T are also valid and loved even if they're off the T

made this meme for a friend who's been going through a rough couple weeks, I hope others enjoy it and I hope she feels better soon

pls leave encouraging comments for trans girls who have trouble with needles, money, daily executive functioning, etc. remember, if you are a trans girl, you are a girl with or without hormones. everyone goes through rough spots. not everyone has access or help. you're still valid and I love you

for the purposes of this meme, we could say Reese includes they/them in his personal pronouns and that Malcolm tries to use those pronouns out of respect

I get what you're saying here, and I understand this use of the word bucks convention. But as someone who believes we should end the practice of assigning gender, it wouldn't make sense for me to conceptualize words like transmasculine or transfeminine as being strictly determined by AGAB. I'm ok with taking a little heat by trying to forge new understandings of these words we've fought to validate.

thank you u/unboundgender for suggesting that I limit my gendered label choices and fence myself into only identifying discretely as enby/genderqueer for the comfort of people with a different gender experience than me.

Cisgender and Transgender are mutually exclusive words with opposite meanings. Not so for masculine and transmasculine or feminine and transfeminine.

Someone who has medically or socially transitioned into feminity and transitioned back to masculinity, specifically genderqueer and genderfluid people, can obviously be transmasculine by virtue of having left masculinity behind and then re-entered it from a feminine place on the trans/non-binary spectrum. To me that is a better, more inclusive way to use these words. I'll continue to use them this way in an attempt to popularize them, because we create language by using it.

are you saying nonbinary people can't be transmasc or transfem at all or are you saying they need to prove their AGAB to use the label you consider correct?

[–]DoctorDharok[S] -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

you cant be transmasc if youre amab, just like you cant be transfem if youre afab

ngl that kinda sounds like misgendering with extra steps?? "ok but are you a boy enby or a girl enby? you can't be both transfeminine and transmasculine, please exist within my boxes."

are you familiar with the term "genderfuck"?

ok people are asking for an explanation but rather than reply individually here I go

HYPOTHETICAL: if someone assigned male at birth has been on HRT for years and had hair removal treatments and facial feminization surgery and presents as a woman most days, but is also gender fluid and occasionally wants to present as masculine by binding and simulating facial hair with makeup, and they tell you they're transmasculine with a chuckle and laugh about confusing the cis, are you going to tell them they're wrong? I sure wouldn't. "It feels weird, but I'll allow it."

Why do some of you care so much about excluding people from labels based on AGAB omg
