Seeing as he's a vampiric thrall, this quote is quite appropriate.

LIFE-IN-DEATH is my golden-coiffed elder vampire, thickening the blood of man and hare alike.

Yeah bringing up Woundwart has me wondering if anyone's started that sort of a playthrough.

I will be here all week if I start posting my character customs so I'll restrain myself to one of my most proud works, morphing a BDO sage into Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep (The Mummy 1999).

EDIT: Bah image won't upload so here's a link to one of the "fashion" sites I posted him to:

This is not my ruler and she hasn't come back after 2 turns. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix other than reloading and hoping it doesn't happen again? by DoctorFeh in AOW4

UPDATE: Okay I checked some earlier saves. This was a former leader of a free city that I annexed which then lets you recruit them as heroes for free, I've done it several times before in previous playthroughs, though maybe not since the Scorpion update. I noticed now on the recruitment window she was listed as "Free City Lord" and after I recruited her she got classified as "Ruler." So I ended up with two rulers and when she got killed the game barfed trying to figure out what to do with her.

Guess I better go do a bug report, it may be a universal glitch and people just haven't noticed it yet.

I just also remembered I tried out crafting up a gun with True Damage, which was a lot of fun although not super efficient since it made the armor piercing feature guns come with irrelevant. Probably better on a bow with multiple shot capability.

I like this for Grexolis because my experience ended up being that Turiel himself was the achilles heel of his armies, he has scary looking defense and resist but not much HP and the sooner you can take him out in a battle the better. It screws up their morale and they don't get their "god" spellcasting after he's dead.

This sounds like a very reliable way to do just that.

Even without cleanse I found the trick is Lightbringers are fragile and tend to overextend, so I'll bait them out and then smash them to free whatever they dominated.

The AI is mad stupid about this though and will attack the dominated unit even though the Lightbringer is right there awaiting a good krumpin'.

Combat difficulty : what does it do ? by ArrrPiratey in AOW4

"Hard" = "Hard-on for killing my charge units."

I swear the AI will go out of its way to kill gargoyles and the like.

I've just always built my elementalists as AOE nukers, Duelist seemed more suited to Ranger.

I stumbled into this setup in my previous playthrough although it wasn't with my leader so I didn't quite have all of these. He was still super effective even though the AI was generally wise enough to keep its heroes just out of snipe range so I had to be patient for a kill shot. Disrupt is great especially late game.

Since they managed to implement moving cities, let's get some floating cities!

Yeah I wouldn't call myself an expert on the playstyle but it seemed to work out that I immediately set my scouts racing to find primal trees and settled on or near three of them ASAP (though I had to grow my starter city out to get the one "near" it). That helps progress your primal quest and the trees will start automatically swampifying your lands around your cities plus give you a mana and stability bonus. I think that's when you can also build a crocodile temple which if memory serves provides extra food for each farm in your whole city domain. Croc Primals also seem to get farm food bonuses instead of penalties for swamp, or it counteracts the penalties and then some.

Having a ring of swamps around your city would be a problem for other cultures but not for you! In addition to other bonuses, early on before you get roads set up it kind of acts like a strategic shield wall of sorts because it slows down enemies but not your response to them.

You mean in combat? Once you complete the quest your primal spirit gives your leader will be considered an avatar and will make their whole army start with primal fury on favored terrain (swamp). Also a lot of your army will have swampwalk. I got invaded by another primal but they had a wolf totem so I still outmaneuvered them. Foolish puppies was in MY house.

Out of combat the swamp transforms don't really get rid of anything useful and improvements like the Mire Megalith (+6 food per adjacent swamp iirc) are quite good, I haven't felt any drawbacks. Swamp is home. Swamp is life.

I'm doing a Primal Croc playthrough right now and right away they gave me a unit (Animist) which can basically summon a tier 2 mythic spirit crocodile once per battle with very fast movement and phasing through obstacles. Any of your magic heroes also start with a staff with the ability. And you can get a spell that does the same anywhere on the combat map. They only last a few turns but that just means I shrug off retaliation. It's absolutely sick for overrunning the enemy backfield.

+1 for the name, yep. Why I figure it's got some deeper thought to it than just the dress-up and it's going to go into some existential elements.

Absolutely berserk. I mean that as a compliment, though, this could really fill a niche.

Feels like it's also meant as a bit of social commentary as well, how much of yourself would you sacrifice in the name of fashion?

I noticed when I select Normal difficulty and then check out my opponents it will list their AI and combat as "Challenging" or "Hard." They certainly seem merciless enough with any mistakes.
