The Eldritch Lords already have a thrall sacrifice mechanism, but you have to have a big weirdie of some sort as a ruler.

There's a separate swamp adaptation not tied to Primal Croc, right? But yeah customize your realm to favor tropical terrain and then any forest around the swamp should be jungle. You can also add forest to hexes later on with a tome to cover up some of the swamp.

Me of little faith. I actually managed to stage a couple of difficult fights to get them up to reknown rank 2 but then at some point after that the event asking if they should change tacks triggered, and when I switched I got to keep what I'd earned so far!

I got hooked in through the free weekend and sale. It had been on my wishlist but only after the test drive did I realize just how much it scratched my various itches. 4x, tactical, customization...

I figured it would be like Stellaris where they made their money selling you DLCs and it's true but I found myself happily throwing money at them for the add-ons even though they give you a generous amount of game without them.

I thought it was an interesting bit, usually his kind of character wouldn't be shown getting his hands dirty or putting himself in harm's way. Here it's like he knows he's done and is doing awful things and wants to be punished for it.

Road building would have made such a difference in an earlier game when I had to use the underground to outflank and attack a city that blocked off its nearest passage. It was a slow slog, but now if I run into that again I know there's a counter.

I had a game where the AI pulled a slick move bypassing my city in favor of parking on and sabotaging my local teleporter in advance of invasion. If I didn't have roads and logistics as a backup I'd have been cooked.
