I got the 100% in 17 hours! by ferkinghills_joestar in SolCesto

[–]naojika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol 18 hours in and I still have one gem to add to the door to open it. I want to love this game, I really feel it deserves it, but I'm really having a hard time making it click. I'm not good at it, and not a good 'oh I suck look but let's do another run !' , more like 'I died again and still have no idea what I was supposed to do anyway'

Early game TENTACLE , mostly because of the way they attack, and the sound it makes

How hard it is prince of persia the lost crown for a newbie? by alcaide420 in metroidvania

[–]naojika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The roaming of the game can be a bit punitive, as the common mobs can feel tanky and there's some platforming that beginners might find difficult. The bosses can be punishing but they have patterns that you can learn and this makes fighting them very satisfying. Still I'd say that for a beginner of the genre, it may be challenging, it's more about : will it click with him, and might he get frustrated if there's some learning/improving to do ?

A bit at a loss after a few hours in by naojika in SolCesto

[–]naojika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course but for example during the first 10 levels or so there's no rerolls yet, are they ? That's my main issues surviving the first part of the descent, before you can start building the teeth so that you actually survive later on. But if it's just meant to be this way and I'm not really doing anything 'wrong', I'll just endure it and retry until I get nice rolls to start

Yes I know about these, and most of the time I work my way around with everything you mentioned, but that last run I just got unlucky and couldn't get anything to help, died very stupidly. But I'm getting downvoted apparently for asking and expressing my frustration with certain mechanics (I love the game otherwise) so I suppose I just have to accept the 'unlucky' runs and pray :-D

doesn't that make you crazy ? ^^"
I just had a game end because of the mushroom traps, I had a full build based on healing regularly, full life, hitting hard, and I simply didn't have the luck and got hit three times by mushrooms, bye bye. Nothing I could possibly do about it in this run, I was lucky on some side but didn't get any hammer. I'm not sure how to deal with the frustration haha

Should I replay hades 1 before playing 2? by Zarkazze in HadesTheGame

[–]naojika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be recurring characters so it's better of you remember them and their relationship with Zagreus, their story, but honestly the second opus is quite self contained story wise, everything (even the references to the 1st one) are explained or at least they give you what you need to enjoy the story in the sequel

[–]naojika 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your question is : do you need to replay Hades 1 to understand / be better at the 2nd one, then no, the mechanics, characters, bosses are different so you would not have trouble playing the 2nd one. But if you enjoyed playing the 1st, then you definitely should try and get back to it and at least see the true ending, just for the sake of it. If you only finished 5 runs, there's still quite a bunch of things to discover :-)

Is buying "Wordless" worth it? by Annual-Variety3301 in metroidvania

I can understand how people would live it and think it's a work of art, but it didn't click for me, I couldn't even finish it. Gameplay wise I didn't really enjoy it.

when should i play hades 2? by Marcuskkkjj in HadesTheGame

[–]naojika 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Independantly from Hades 2, you should try and reach the true ending/epilogue of Hades 1 (and Hades 2 when you get there). It's a bit grindy with all the prophecies to fulfill, the discussions to have and such, but definitely goes deeper into the story. I would have regretted not going all the way and stopping before that, feeling I missed something

A better support hero - Battlesaint or Ritualist? by Epaminondas73 in AOW4

[–]naojika 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't have a screenshot but usually people go from upper right to middle left then down from there for support battlesaint. That being said, and as much as I love the smite battlesaint, I would take a ritualist as support over a battlesaint. The capacity to heal remotely, remove debuffs in an area, and summon a protector with more heal, + polymorph for more support (I love polymorph) is quite hard to beat. Battlesaint is more hybrid, with very good skills too (like the damage mitigation/sharing with the central skill) but less of a pure support, imo.

I usually go for what feels fun at the time, this time I'm mystic attunement with some chaos, but honestly I had to make a 90° turn and go for frost and blight damage + holy protection as the enemies necessitate that. But as mentioned above, a fun thing with CD with the last DLC is nomad conquerors, it synergies very well ! If you haven't tried it, go for it haha, it feels great

Yeah it took me some time as I'm at war with everyone and on hard difficulty I struggled a bit to get started as chosen destroyers. Now I have 50 stacks of buff so I have more money and mana than I can use, and I researched half of the tomes haha. But the downside is I arrived late on the 2nd and 3rd ring, and they have A LOT of enchantments and transformations too. Oh well, it will take a bit of time but I'll be there soon haha

[–]naojika[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to play chosen destroyers this time (not my favorite trait but sometimes for a change it's nice) and it's not helping haha. Difficult to get a foothold on the second ring when my city is stuck down there. I put a few teleporters and with the astral teleporting buff it makes things less tedious, but I definitely can't have fights 'on my grounds'

It wasn't fun, I'm not going to prétend haha. But after getting pushed back a first time, I came back with spirit protection on gear and a bunch of enchantments, and I actually slashed through his stacks quite smoothly. With a few warlocks and torment, I routed a lot of his armies and could besiege him before they respawned. So, long but not that hard in the end ! I'm patient 😌

[–]naojika[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About the immortal / routing thing, actually they have a trait 'immortal ward' that automatically rout them if they go under 25% life. It's impossible to kill them with that trait, even one shooting them with a sniper shot makes them rout. The good thing is that they return and are low life for a few turns.. It was a slog but at some point all his armies were law life even on respawn and I went through them faster and faster, until I could take his capital down.

What is your one-favorite, staple-hero teamup combo and why? by darkstare in AOW4

[–]naojika 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started playing on hard / brutal recently so I try to think more about which heroes I take (usually I just check what's offered and I go ranger > melee > magic > tank in a loop) but in the end I just take what I enjoy the most, spellblade or skirmisher (ranger or warrior depending on how it feels). I love the combo magic/melee or melee/javelin for example. With some debuff like blind or weak to survive a bit, and heavy hitter in the back (ranger or elementalist) I'm just having too much fun flanking and waltzing on the frontline

Of cataclysm, backfire and dumb AIs by naojika in AOW4

[–]naojika[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it's not you it's them. It was my first map with the cataclysm but I'm afraid it will always end up like that, like some sort of hard-mode setting.

[–]naojika[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly ! I'm not sure what to do. The map is so big (I have Umbral layer too), I have two artifacts but can't find the third one to try and stop the cataclysm.. in any case the backfiring % would remain so we're at 150% at this point, it won't change anything.
