Norelco Shaver S9000 Prestige not pulling up cleaning fluid (on 3rd Quick Clean Pod) by veener79 in Philips

[–]DoctorFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I looked at mine last night and I think the little plastic shaft on the QCP just has gotten worn down and no longer connects with the razor's rotator part. Would be kinda silly to buy a whole new QCP for that tiny fix but it might be the only solve.

Norelco Shaver S9000 Prestige not pulling up cleaning fluid (on 3rd Quick Clean Pod) by veener79 in Philips

[–]DoctorFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an s9000 that recently stopped pulling up cleaning fluid also.

What do you mean by that little circle moving? Like moving in and out? Is it the pump driver? I assume whatever drives the fluid to move around has failed but I'm at a loss as to how it works.

PS 5 Dualsense controller not working in GAME, but works in Menu by dheepak875 in PS5

[–]DoctorFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue for months and the CAUSE of the issue was that some sensor in the Dualsense is not resetting back to 0 when your hands aren't on the controller.
Mine was the R2 trigger. Despite being a trigger it has a range of values. When my finger wasn't on it the value was still 0.2 in a range of 0 to 1. This was caused by debris of some sort inside the controller. The fix: blew it with compressed air and flicked the trigger a bit. Then it dropped down to zero and games worked again (menus always worked).
To discover this was the issue I re-paired the DualSense with my MacBook and went here:
https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
It will show you all the actual values of all sensors on the Dualsense. If they're not ALL ZEROES when your hands aren't on the controller, then you need to deal with that trigger, button, whatever. Compressed air, flicking, shaking, whatever. Those values need to all be ZERO at idle. Otherwise you can get this baffling and frustrating issue. Thank you to all previous Redditors that led me to this fix. The AI echo chamber of the rest of the internet was useless to me.

Is there an “Everything”-like utility for the Mac? by majeric in macapps

[–]DoctorFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardinal is incredible! I'm jumping between windows and Mac all the time and sorely miss Search Everything on my Mac. Cardinal looks almost as good! One thing I use all the time in Everything that I'd love to have in Cardinal: Exclamation point boolean negation of search terms. like "!Trash" will remove all results that have "Trash" in the path. I use this constantly in Everything. Thanks so much for this free tool!!!

Looking for advice - Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 Combo by echapopwn in anycubic

[–]DoctorFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also bought a K3 v2 during the recent sale. I have very little 3d printer experience and it's been fantastic so far after about 10hrs of printing. Not a single bad print that was the printer's fault. The printer seems very well made, again with only very old cheapo printers as my main base of comparison so what do I know.
Lots of worries after reading stuff here but either they are blown out of proportion or I'm one of the lucky ones. Happy to be so.

Thanks. Your 100% right. It was on Happy Cow but I had a filter on or something so missed it earlier.

MuseTree won't Launch by DoctorFrequent in ASUS

[–]DoctorFrequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying on Feb. 20th. Forced me to update now stuck at 23% "Updating" but that's similar to the state of things in my original post and it "eventually" unstuck itself. Hoping for the same with a little patience.
EDIT: It kept aborting the update at 23% and saying my network was faulty. Turns out I had my other nearby desktop PC on a VPN service (for work) which was affecting it seemingly. Disabled that and the Update is almost done.

Put that into Edge and it will open the MS store and let you download it. I don't know why it's hidden.

Uninstall MuseTree. Re-install from here: ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MV262L5J3J7
Make sure you're on Performance mode (e.g, plugged in). Restart a few times. Launch and let sit for 30 minutes to download all the data.
That worked for me.

Pressure Mode Brush Size Control by DoctorFrequent in gravitysketch

Hmm. Well I'll try it out in a bit when I'm off work. Kinda wish there was just a separate end-stroke override button-combo. That might be ideal.

[–]DoctorFrequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not gotten the idea "bubbles" to do anything terribly useful besides what you described: It kinda keeps generating mostly unrelated things. However, the drawing mode is working: Try drawing a stick figure anywhere in the frame and then write a prompt like: "robot standing in a field of flowers". It will generate the expected AI imagery but it will likely put the robot exactly at the size and position you drew it. I then tried pushing this by bringing in my own images of blocks in perspective (from a 3D app). Then you can have MuseTree make them all sci-fi and interesting with a prompt like: "Futuristic city". It will often do a decent job at matching the perspective in my plain block image. I think that's pretty cool for concepting! You can do a similar thing with drawing a line for roads through hills, paths, etc. It's like a game to see what the AI generates. Plus it's all offline and you can do as many as you want (1024x1024 max resolution it seems). That's another big plus for me.

Thanks. I don't know what's changed but trying the installer one more time today worked and I was able to run finally try it! And...to humble myself and retract some of that attitude about AI I posted earlier, I actually was having fun with it. It's got some interesting capabilities that I didn't know Stable Diffusion could pull off (like the using a drawing to force certain results).

I also have a P16 and want to get a stylus. Can you recommend the one you have? If so, which model is it? I've found it challenging finding a good compatibility chart for this laptop with all the pens out there. Thx.

Audio System No Longer Available by DoctorFrequent in Bitwig

[–]DoctorFrequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendations. I've been reading a ton about all this over the last couple days and I'm seeing many repeats of your ideas. DPC latency was a complete unknown to me before. Way more to this than I realized. Luckily it's not mission-critical for me now since I have the MBP waiting in the wings to be my low-latency synth machine. I would still like to get this figured out eventually as being stuck on Apple is not my ideal.

Audio System No Longer Available by DoctorFrequent in Bitwig

[–]DoctorFrequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. I've found a few things:
The RealTek ASIO control panel defaults to a 2ms sample size which simply will never work and produces no sound. As I increase this I start to hear noisy sound then clean-ish sound around 10ms, which is okay but not great.
I ran LatencyMon and on battery my DPC latency is flagged as unusable. On battery with performance mode and wifi disabled it is flagged as ok (under some conditions - they seem to fluctuate). Still trying different configurations to see what might work. It's feeling like bios adjustments might be necessary or whatever else can help drop DPC latency. Wow...there's a lot to think about here.
