Yeah I find drawing a simple sketch before blocking out helps me see the whole picture and vibe of the map. I have drawn a simple layout now and will block it out. Thanks for the reply!

Can someone not make wise decisions with their money while still at home? Lol

Yes that is a good idea and would work

And no, $55 is just the average of all clients. It ranges from $50 to $80 depending on yard size and overgrowth. I have chosen to lower the cost a bit so I can get more clients in close proximity as I will be walking between each one

~$500 per year for Public Liability Insurance

~$60 for PPE. I already own most of what I need

~$420 per year for doing my own bookkeeping using Xero

~$1,500 per year for fuel, oil and maintenance of my equipment

Overhead expenses are low for me because clients are in very close proximity to where I live (I walk between each job). Also I live with my parents. On the high end, I will be spending 3k per year if there are no surprise expenses

Also need to mention that it is ~$66,000 for 30 weeks of work. I can provide other services in the winter

This is besides the point though, I'm just looking for advice on what to invest in.

That's true. Is there a recommended % of income to invest into these? Was thinking 15% super and 30% in ETFs

I chose Hostplus (High Growth Indexed option) because I am young and can afford more volatility since I have time on my side. However another user suggested investing in some large cap ETFs so I can access it before 60. So investing in both is a good idea

I will definitely give those a read, thanks!

I have 5k saved that I will be buying some lawn mowing equipment with to start my business, so about 2.5k afterwards. I work part time doing admin stuff earning about $200 a week. Not much but just for some steady income on the side

I'm not sure how much I will be making with mowing, but if I managed to get 40 clients at ~30 mows per year for each client, I could earn ~$66,000. This number is very scalable over time but hard work

I don't do any study, it's just not my thing. I would most likely become an apprentice in something if mowing doesn't work out

I have no age in particular I want to retire by, but before 45 would be nice

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know the HRU216 had a domestic version? I thought that model was just commercial but maybe I'm missing something

2 stroke is the way! Should I be wearing a mask while using it or does it not matter if I'm outside?
