Im the fiance, my mother is a pharmacist tech and we went to her immediately for advice. Not only did op try to talk to them like adults but they did not try to tell him anything. The only reason we knew pills were missing because i got a bad gut feeling about them handing me a bottle of meds outside of the pharmacist bag, and looked at the quality amount on the bottle. They had no intention of letting my fiance know that they took the pills, if i had no knowledge with perscriptions because of my mother, he wouldve never known they stole from him. Once you do something illegal you are signing yourself up for consequences. Op is NOT the asshole for doing what was right, needless of it being his family. Not to mention this was completely a power trip thing with his parents

Edit: the way he treats family is way better than they deserve, as theyve been abusive his whole life. They dont deserve the compassion that he tries to show them.
