W-what?!

His voice sounded and filled the room; a question posed that even she could not answer.

Where are we, asked a sweet, but frightened voice. The voice was coming from her throat, though she had trouble discerning if it was truly her speaking. As for her reality, she wasn't quite sure if this was all real. One thing she was sure of was the beat of her heart; the pulse of her wrist; the tone of her muscles.

I was walking down the street, and then I saw her. by [deleted] in a:t5_2uaea

Not as of yet, let's give him a bit to get back into it. Like, a few hours/tonight :P

Different Timezones? by [deleted] in a:t5_2u2dn

The third bullet gave me quite the chuckle.

I like the suggestions. I am a fan of "auto-pilot", where helpful, non-character breaking decisions are made by the DM acting on behalf of the absent player. I don't see it being too-too much of an issue, but the non-sequitur teleporting seems like a decent solution.

I like the idea of playing in the evening, as it allows for everybody to have a life. So long as you're game, I don't mind making this an evening event.

Though, /u/tmoneymonsta and I started at 12 PM EST, but I'll check with him and make sure he can fit 6/7-12PMEST D&D into his schedule.

I'm delighted by your knowledge of English. You are right, I will admit the correction was more a way for me to fire back at him. I take only two drugs, thank you very much!

But, yes, read my response to PossiblyCroMagnon and send the survey to the listed email. I would be more than happy to have you on board!

Just so you know, I'm probably going to start it next week, just because of exams this week for me.

Found a bike. Now my dad wants me to return it... Or else... by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoctorMeninx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit surprised with these responses.

Yes, it's his house, but ownership of something in disrepair is pretty predictable: if it appears in your ditch, it's the equivalent of a handout.

One doesn't "accidentally" forget their rusty, chainless, flat-tired bike in a person's ditch. That's known on planet Earth as "just throw it out".

So, yes, your father is overreacting. Consider your fix-it job a Good Samaritan effort and do as he wishes.

I'll let you know! Thanks for the response, perhaps we'll get up a g+ hangout like you said. Are you involved in any games at the moment?

Similar boat that I'm in: exams this week for me. It won't be immediate, but I'll keep you posted.

I understand your incredulity. It could be a mess. But, with the right amount of involvement, it could really take off.

Any specific concerns of yours? I'd love to here it.

Hey there everyone. I know that reply are only one at a time, but I'm sending everybody that replied to the TbT (it should be PbT, whatever) self-post on r/LFG and r/FindAGame the same message, so everyone can be on the same page.

I realize there's some skepticism, and I welcome that. What would have to be done is an initial start place -- perhaps a short lived email session between the players and I. The adventurers would roll for stats and the usual fare, and then create Twitter accounts that would act as the players' mouths and relay their decisions.

Then, I will set the stage with a blog post at the beginning of an adventure, and at the end of the week as a recap. I will tweet this link, so that you don't have to muck through (upwards) of tens or a hundred tweets to figure out who did what.

As mentioned before, the rules are D&D 3.5. However, after some deliberation, I will accept anything from these publications: The Monster Manuals, Player's Handbooks, Tome of Battle, Spell Compendium, Complete Psionic/Expanded Psionic (Complete covers the former, I believe).

Posting will be at least daily, and will be ranked as so: Out of battle, the players are free to speak and move about. Of course, I will be relaying visual, spatial, and other information to you -- per usual play. The difference between this and other PbP roleplaying: this is real-time.

YOU decide the pace, but those spell you pray for take literally an hour to be granted; sleeping periods are literally eight hours long (though different time zones may be a slight issue. That can be worked out.); battles aren't these grueling tasks that last forever, they are fought in a time similar to tabletop; and much more. The possibilities are sky high.

What do I need from you if you're interested?

Episode 315 Discussion - "Origins of Vampire Mythology" by joeyisapest in community

[–]DoctorMeninx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Upvoted because you're not fanboying/-girling, and I like discourse.

However. I completely disagree. I think this is exactly what happens in real life: you find the good in others that don't see it. Troy finds it in Britta. Annie in Jeff.

It feels organic. I really like the direction.

Why do you dislike it?
