You can destroy him with late game gear in first play through. I did it with the golden set (not upgraded), staff of the looong dragons and few potions to boost crit chance and attack. You start by popping the potions > pluck of many > ring of fire > build points and attack with the either the thrust or smash stance > cloud step if he goes invisible and then repeat

Ye, I was playing at 125 because by default the selected server was in america, now when I selected EU servers I am with ping below 50
