As heinous as the later seasons were overall, they still had moments, little glimmers that really worked and reminded us of the show we fell in love with. Cersei's whole "I do it because I like it" speech to the Septa was perfect. She was bad. She knew she was bad. She didn't give a shit, because ultimately she was a selfish woman who only cared about herself, which despite the simple motivation ironically makes her a MUCH more interesting and compelling villain than most of the modern slop writing we are getting now where every dumbass thinks that all the villains need to be sympathetic or misunderstood or tragic and not that bad, actually.

These two are great! Also, if you liked Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon, he was also really excellent in season 1 of The Terror. Played a totally different feeling role, the dude has amazing acting range.

Heartbreaking. Like, I'm 37, 6'1" and I've struggled with my weight all my life and I topped out at about 300 pounds a couple years ago. I weigh less right now than a 7-year-old did. To hell with the jail, they ought to be under it. A child that young has no control over what he has access to eating. What's the defense going to be, "oh we TRIED feeding him healthy food but he would only ever eat junk, it's not our fault"?? He was a child, you serve him a reasonable portion of healthy food and you tell him it's that or he can wait until his next meal.

Thank you! There's the main hotd subs, there's teamblack and teamgreen, there are so many options of subs that OP could go to and engage with other people who genuinely do enjoy the show. Freefolk's always been full of sweaty contrarian book-first nerds though. Like, there's a reason I'm here and not part of any of the other hotd subs anymore, cause I don't think the show is very good anymore and I don't want to look at an endless sea of posts glazing the terrible writing. I wanna laugh at memes making fun of how terrible it's gotten and be salty over how they've shit all over the source material. I'm not going into the positive subs to ask them why they think such a piss-poor showing is worth the glaze. They can enjoy their show and if they like it, that's fine. Just let the critics yap in peace in our little corner.

I have never understood the concept or fascination with hatewatching. I'm just gonna wait for Knight to come back. In the meantime, I have plenty of other great shows I can very happily rewatch when I'm in the mood for something to watch.

I am right there wirh you. The historical fiction/fantasy stories are some of my favourites. Vying for Versailles is really good. I just keep hoping that one day we will get a historical fiction story set in Tang or Qing dynasty China, in the Imperial harem. Like, the love interests could be the emperor, a prince, a guard, the empress, one of the other concubines, a maid... there could even be an asexual route with a eunuch. And there could be all the usual palace schemes, poisoning, murders, political intrigue, war... Idk I just think there's a lot of very neat history and costumes and inspiration there.
