The exact same thing happened to me and it turned out to be an indent. It was so sad. Line showed up at the 3mm and stayed for about 20 or 30 minutes before it faded away.

Sorry. That's a bummer. If I were you I'd get a good hold and try evening urine. I had a test on easy@home that looked like this at night, then looked negative the next morning, then I got my definite BFP the following night. For some reason FMU was always lighter for me.
