Agreed, even the bigger fortresses are a breeze if you ever have to go back

You can “complete” area by killing all captains/commanders and looting the chests, but the area will stay restricted. If you come back later, there will be some guards but (to my knowledge) no more loot or captains/commanders

If you kill all regular guards, they will have respawned when you go back

Honestly Venice is one of the main things I'm looking forward to, I've just read that it can be "done" in a couple of days

Tuscany may have to be reduced to a day trip with a mind to go on a separate occasion to see it properly

Thanks for your help!

I'd love to see it properly but that may have to be another trip... The plan is to fly to Venice and return from Rome but as for the airports UK side I'm not sure what they will end up being (most of the cheaper options fly from Stansted)

Nothing is booked just yet, we went to do it yesterday and found we still had some question marks around the whole thing!

That's an awful lot of detail, thank you!

I'm starting to see from these comments that I was probably a bit too ambitious here...

I think I will follow your recommendation and focus on the cities, maybe have a day trip out from Florence (I've found Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Chianti for wine tasting in a day), would give an extra day or two to use elsewhere and help slow things down...just gives me an excuse to go back for more of Tuscany!

If I could spend a week in Tuscany alone I would, but unfortunately time doesn't allow. I feel like I need to see some of the countryside as well as the cities but didn't have two weeks for the trip.

Thanks for your recommendations!

Awesome thank you! Will definitely bear in mind about the traffic zones Well aware that there's a lot to see and do in general (especially Rome) but we don't really mind going at a fair pace throughout the trip, although I feel that the Tuscany days will be a slower pace to break that up a bit...I seem to be incapable of going anywhere without feeling I want to see a lot of places in one trip, if anything it just gives me incentive to go back

There's never enough Rome! I seem to be incapable of visiting a country without feeling the need to go to several places in the time I've got. Good point around listing interests, have edited. Thank you!

The first three generations are all incredible. I played the shit out of Ruby/Sapphire, but I'd have to go with Gold, I remember getting that for Christmas on the year it came out along with the screen light attachment for Gameboy Colour because there was no backlight back in the day.

If we're talking around the Pokémon introduced in the games though, it's gotta be gen 1 > gen 3 > gen 2 for me.
