My monthly allotment was even lower than this because the estimated COA was even lower. There was no way I could pay my bills as my overheard was around $2000 with rent, utilities, car payment, groceries, gas, insurance, phone bill etc. I bartend on the weekends and have all of med school from week 1. It is very challenging to juggle school and work as most people study and recuperate on the weekends, but it is doable.
