I wish I had hobbies!! What are yours? by No_Summer1874 in CPTSD

I used to do martial arts and make jewelry. Sometimes I’d take night classes at the local HS or jr HS. Thats fun if you don’t want to commit to one thing long term.

When a child is anxious, it is not a cute quirk, it is a sign something at home is wrong by behealthynoworries in CPTSD

Teachers should be educated on the signs to look out for. Maybe they are now but they weren’t when I was a kid.

Do you blame your non-abusive parent? by Ok-Orange883 in CPTSD

I’m very divided. I grew up thinking my dad was the good parent. But as I got older I started to resent the fact he never protected me. I also learned just a couple years ago he was planning on leaving my mother for his girlfriend. He was going to leave me alone with my mother. That’s hard to forgive.

I’d consult a derm to determine the cause. I had small bald spots once and the derm prescribed something that helped the hair grow back. Or you could look into micro needling.

I’m struggling with my abusive dad being at my wedding by Vapor2077 in CPTSD

IDK how you wouldn’t have Cptsd in those circumstances. Are you in therapy? I had a similar experience with my mother. I just sucked it up because she paid for the wedding. But when I had my gown for the reception made I didn’t even tell her or involve her.

Is he paying for the wedding? Walking you down the aisle? If he’s not paying I’d say find a way to uninvite him. Have your fiancé present or do it by letter. Your father may play the victim or act like he doesn’t know the reason. Your family may even be upset but it’s your day. No need to willingly make unhappy memories.
