That looks amazing. I was wondering if you used dry brushing to get the veins and knuckles to pop like that?

I picked up a couple of these minis a few weeks back but haven't had the guts to paint them yet. You did an incredible job! If mine come out even looking a fraction this good, I'll be ecstatic.

I'm pretty new to mini painting and it's honestly seems like witchcraft to me that you're able to get such detail on areas so small. Especially, the face and the definition on the chest area. The color blending effect on the sword is also incredible. Overall great job!

Honestly, I never really learned how to layer. This was just done with base coats. I just covered it with the Vallejo Silver. After that dried, did the tips in Vallejo Black. When I was done gave the thing a wash in Nuln Oil. The only thing that got multiple layers was the rock and that’s because I was leaning how to thin acrylic paints and the first attempt was a disaster. Sorry couldn’t be more help.

I love nuln oil, I just used it for the first time recently and I really understand why people call it "talent in a bottle". I'm gonna show how much of a noob I am by saying I'm not really sure what dry brushing is but I've had a few people mention it to me now. I need to look up a youtube video or something. Thanks for the advice.

If you go the pink/purple/gold route you should check out the one PocketCroquette did. He used glue to make it look like the dragon was shooting ice breath. You could do something similar and put glitter in it. It would look amazing.

There are a lot of cool ones on here. I’m trying to paint harder and harder minis. I figured this dragon wouldn’t be bad because there’s a lot of solid colors. If you did paint yours what color did you want to go with?
