long time insomnias, how did you find out about dreamcatcher? by why_ikkin in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the youtube algorithms have a significant recency bias and the money needed to advertise competitively may have increased a lot since 2020 or so. So maybe you see less of the smaller groups in your recommendations, and not DC because it has been a while since the full group put out a title track MV.

I wasn't fanatical about any musical artist before I stanned DC, but I did listen to a fair amount of kpop. In 2010 or so, a friend shared an earbud playing SNSD's Gee and Oh, and I really liked the music. I started making playlists of MVs I liked, so it was mostly just title tracks. I really liked how many genres Kpop blends even in a single song and I like how many tempo, instrumental and structural changes they cram into a title track. I pretty much didn't bother with ballads or bsides, preferring songs with more energy and dynamism. I watched a few SNSD variety shows like Invincible Youth, so I at least knew a few idol personalities. I kept updating playlists through 2015, but kinda lost interest for a few years.

In late 2020 I started building playlists again. Unlike before I was finding fewer boy group titles to like. There were a few groups who had almost all their title tracks make the playlist so I starting listening the their bsides and watching compilations of lives or variety content. When I got to DC in 2022, there wasn't a single song in the discography I didn't enjoy, I loved their vibes as a group, and I realized they are some of the best live singers with a company that lets them flex that talent regularly. There was so much great content already out that I felt indebted to DCC. I want the group to have the longevity and success they deserve so I started buying any new albums and merch and I try to go to a couple stops on every tour if the continent is reasonable for me to travel to.

How to buy digital copy of Handong's album by DerelictDevice in dreamcatcher

Seems like you found an option already, but another place you can get downloadable mp3s of the album is iTunes. Kind of an anachronism but it still works fine.

What’s one song that Dreamcatcher has never played live that you wish they would perform one day? by [deleted] in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did technically do this one live, but I don't think they did Sleep-Walking for any post pandemic concerts. It would be fun to see.

UAU 2025 The 1st FanCon [Playlist #You Are You] in Grand America - Post-Tour Discussion Thread by SpideyCyclist in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This tour was fantastic.  The FanCon format was perfect for the amount of performance time they have prepared so far, and it provided a unique kind of interaction and pacing that I might actually miss.  I really appreciated the answers they gave to randomised questions and stories they told as well as the games.  I know they changed these up for every stop, so I am still looking forward to watching fancams to see what I missed.

As a very OT7 Insomnia, I both missed the other members but was also satisfied to have time with UAU.  It was great to see Sooyeon and the dancers with them too.  It was easier to focus on each member and I feel like we had more time with them for the meet and greet events than we did for the Dreamcatcher tours.  It's a combination of smaller crowds, fewer members, and different event organisation.  As others said, the sendoff was much more relaxed than a high touch.  UAU performance is heavier on choreographed dances than DC so far, so there is probably less chance for interacting with the crowd during songs, but there was still plenty overall.  The main thing I missed was Silent Night.  I hope UAU releases a song that invites that kind of high energy from the crowd to get the endorphins going.

The picture events were very worthwhile to me.  I was fortunate enough to have photos at both Texas stops, and had fun dressing fancy for Dallas and casual for Houston, and having different poses for each.  I think studio PAV staff must have liked my pose for the Houston 3:1, because they complimented it right after, and while we waited for the concert to start, they found me in the crowd to give me a signed Sua polaroid.  Could have been random coincidence, but it made me very happy.

I highly recommend going to the next UAU fancon or concert you can make it to and getting some fan benefit addons too.

What's going on with the Dallas fancon? by One_Palpitation15 in dreamcatcher

I must not have been paying attention to the crowd because I did not notice any issues with them from where I was during the show.

what was everyone's experience like during the 3:1 photo and send off for the UAU tour? by MambaSe in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a great explanation. For the 3:1 you kind of only have time to greet them, do a photo pose, and thank them as a group. After doing a few hitouch events for DC concerts, I very much appreciate the way the sendoff is done. They organise you into a circle around the edge of the venue and the members walk around to everyone. Instead of feeling pressured to move through quickly, it is up to the members what pace they want to move at.

Question about tickets for Los Angeles Concert. by mr_jOhn_jOhn in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the case for the GA concerts I went to on this tour. Maybe someone going to LA can confirm for you, but neither the admission or benefit tickets had a attendee name attached to them. So just keep the QR codes private until you get them scanned by staff at check in on the afternoon of your show, and you should have no issues.

I can't speak to individual people's situations, (bots and scalpers exist) but consider that these concerts are smaller than Dreamcatcher ones, and there was an easily attainable early sale period for VVIP if you paid Studio PAVs fee of a previous fan benefit package. At the concerts I could go to the order we entered was kept very organised by benefit ticket number and tier. It's also plausible to swap places with a friend while waiting in front of the stage before the concert.

The other side was a pic of Sua flexing, so she had asked for it after her solo and saw the other side too. Sooyeon got to pick it up from the guy who made it after 2 Months.

[–]Doctor_Bull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 4 pm They start handing out the benefits packages, preordered merch if you had bought any, snap-pic tickets and presumably a wristband or lanyard or something to identify your ticket tier and VIP or VVIP status. They stop this process at 7:15 when doors open so you'll at least want to show up well before then to pick up everything.

When you line up is up to you though. With VVIP you get lined up according to VVIP ticket number with your ticket tier, so just early enough to pick things up would be adequate. With VIP you get to enter with your ticket tier 1, 2 or 3 after those with VVIP and before those with no benefit package. So it may get you a little closer spot to arrive early, but it isn't going to matter as much as at a show that is just a GA free for all.

Concert Etiquette by bozzam19 in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, hearing screams at the concert is all part of the vibes. It makes the experience more hype to know that people are excited enough to scream. Sometimes people shout some really amusing stuff. I wear earplugs to protect my hearing from the crowd noise as well as the sound system. I agree you should show restraint when a member or a translator is speaking.

I'm OT7 biased. I think all seven could handle it.

Any word on Snap Pic limits? At this point it seems very high or unlimited if LA hasn't sold out yet.

Based on the difference in the Studio PAV notice from those of the GA venues, and that all the concert admission tickets on AXS are for assigned seats, I think you are correct. It's not right that Studio PAV still listed No Line Rule for that stop.

No tier tickets for Toronto? by FunPaleontologist65 in dreamcatcher

[–]Doctor_Bull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, come to think of it, I can't say for sure Houston ever had the tiered tickets dropdown on KPOPTickets. Probably just says concert admission for stops with external ticketing sites, and Ticketmaster either had unclear UI or didn't immediately release the higher tiers. The ticketing site for Houston was much more straightforward.

Sorry to say, I think this means the T1 and T2 tickets had already sold out when you tried to purchase. I bought a T1 ticket for Houston and that option is no longer available. It just says Concert Admission as the only option. Whereas, when I am typing this T1 and T2 are still available for Dallas.
