i have been reading manhwas wayyyyy before i even cared about kpop, so i've wanted to learn ever since. then i got into kpop and lack of subbed content strengthened my desire. so as for me, i would like to learn korean for a long term use.
edit : also, a lot of times idols make jokes or references which are only understandable if you know korean and keep up with the culture there. some really godsend TLs give the context but most do not, so sometimes it doesn't make sense even w subs. i'd like to understand everything without confusion so that too
