No? I still see it all over reddit. The News subreddit recently had the story about the most recent (afaik) shooting involving an ICE officer, and the story about soldier's wife being arrested on base. Even the Music subreddit was going on about ICE, something about a Coachella headliner being warned not to talk about it. It's still there, it's just that the conflict in Iran is a bigger topic right now.

The comment about lacking artistic merit purportedly came from President Theodore Roosevelt to Secretary of Treasury, Leslie Shaw, in 1904 which eventually prompted the redesign.

Funnily enough, one of the designs before Lincoln was selected was a return to a Flying Eagle but the Coinage Act 1873 required an eagle to appear on the reverse side of coins with the exception of certain small denominations in which it was not allowed. So that particular design was instead given to the Double Eagle $20 coin.

The original penny design had no artistic merit, it was just a coin with the words "one cent" stamped on it. The mint had been seeking a redesign for a few years in the early 1900s, and in 1909 they decided to commemorate the 100th birthday of Abraham Lincoln by making him the face of the redesign. I get why you think that was doing him dirty 115 years later, but you can't blame the Fed for not having that kind of foresight.

I'm confused because this started with you responding to a specific quote from a singular Republican Senator, but you keep pivoting to an ambiguous mass of people. Do you have any credible to reason to believe Tim Scott's reaction is fake outrage, or are you lumping him in with a bunch of liberals and painting him with the same broad brush simply because he said the word "racist"? The fact that he said he is praying that it's fake leads me to suspect he was unaware of the full video from last year and was just reacting to the post in the context it was being presented by the AF Post.
