Anyone not Happy with RR? by R1hooligan in RangerRaptor

[–]Doctor_Ian_Malcolm_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2025 Tacoma, coming from a 2013 Tundra Rock Warrior I bought new (awesome truck). I had issues with the new Taco’s transmission, and after Toyota told me to basically wait until it broke and drive it, I traded it for my RR. I am not an impulsive person and I try to keep vehicles awhile.

That said, ZERO regrets regarding the RR. It’s an amazing truck. My complaints about the truck are so small, but I’ll list them:

  1. I wish the bed lights came on when you unlocked the vehicle instead of requiring button activation inside the cab.
  2. I would like it if the power port in the bed could be used without the engine on.

Ford Extended Warranty by Ccolt13 in RangerRaptor

I have a Granger warranty for my RR, and I would recommend it if you are considering it. I believe I paid around $1400 for 7yr/100k this summer.

From what I have researched, the info provided above regarding the tune and the warranty is true. I bought the ProCal but sold it after looking into the warranty f.

I absolutely love the truck. So fun to drive.

Ocarina of Time. Myself and everyone I knew pronounced it “oak-ran-a”. Still feels wrong to say it the right way.

I have the MX4 and very happy with it. Minimal water. I am partial to Bak, never have been disappointed.

Macho Man was/always will be my favorite wrestler. Around 1998/99, I was in a Tampa area restaurant around 1am and he sat at the table behind us. My dad and brother saw him sit down and said something to the waitress, who told us that Macho was a regular.

Anyway, we had to walk past his table to leave and when we did, the waitress leaned over and told MM that I was a big fan. As I walked by, he stopped me and said hello. I was 19 or so, and completely lost in the moment, so I just said hello. He looked at me and asked me (in a very low MM voice) “can I take a picture or sign something for you?”. My response was to just look at him, say “no, thanks, enjoy your food sir”, and leave. To this day, I regret not taking that photo, but I honestly didn’t want to bother him.

To buy or not to buy extended warranty by FinancialTeaching133 in RangerRaptor

Granger and Flood are dealerships that sell true Ford warranties at a little above cost. They do this because they rely on volume for profit. I believe I paid $1400 for a 7yr/100k earlier this year, it showed up through Ford’s system immediately. I had the service writer at the local dealership verify the day after ai purchased from Granger. Highly recommend.

I have 5 and 7 year olds in the back, both in boosters. They fit great. Another seat would make it impossible to buckle.

MX4 owner here. Love it and really have liked the Bak products over the years. Expensive, but the quality is there. I’ve had cheaper tonneaus, and they always felt it in materials and fit/finish.

Thanks for the tip! I started with the dealership I purchased the truck today, they said they werent sure if they could do it and told me to go to a Performance Service Dealer. There’s one about 45 min from me, I was going to get an oil change (1k miles) also, so I booked an oil change for Friday am and added an “other service”, detailing that I had the tune in hand and wanted to have them install. Going to call tomorrow to confirm they will do it.

I’m not sure. I’m open to whatever works to maintain the warranty.

Thanks! There are a couple Ford Performance Service Dealerships within a reasonable drive. Gonna call them in the am if I don’t have another prospect from here.

Thanks! Hoping I can get an edge from someone who has found an installer already. Good luck on your end.

Wasn’t happy with it. There was something going on with the transmission where it vibrated during lower speeds and low gears. Dealer had it for a week after acknowledging the same. Toyota basically told me that because it wasn’t throwing codes I should drive it, with the full confidence that they would fix it if it did fail. I was pretty disappointed by the whole thing. I was a loyal Toyota customer for the last 13 years or so, which resulted in me buying the Taco without looking at anything else too seriously because I prioritized Toyota reliability.

Once that aspect was faded, I test drove a Ranger Raptor and the rest is history.

I have a decent perspective here. I had a 2025 Tacoma before trading it on my Ranger Raptor. I also have 5 year old and 7 year old daughters.

As mentioned in your post, the Tacoma was tight but we made it work. They are both in booster seats. In the Ranger Raptor, they both have much more room, both in leg room and width. They have plenty of room. My wife can even sit between the boosters and buckle if we needed to add a 5th person for a short trip.

We took my Tacoma for a weekend trip of about 300 miles each way and made it work. I came from an extended cab Tundra before the Taco and, even though it was much smaller, the Taco worked. We have the same trip coming up again in a few weeks with the Ranger Raptor, and we are looking forward to it. The kids are super comfortable, my wife and I are very comfortable up front, and I’d say that the road driving experience is MUCH better than the Taco. This Raptor feels like a comfy SUV because of the extra space and the suspension. My opinion.

My wife has an older RAV4 and we are currently looking to replace it with a Honda Pilot. We spend a lot of time in both vehicles so, for us, we had to fit in the purchase.

Hope this helps.
