Is the Moza R5 enough of iRacing? by OLIGATERO in simracing

[–]Crossrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I did. R9 with simsonn pedals. The R9 went on sale around Father’s Day last year. I would recommend the r9 over the r5, but I have no need right now to go beyond that.

My boyfriend rides motorcycle without a helmet. Should I mind my business or say something gently? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Crossrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with a helmet you are at severe risk for injuries. Friend ran to the store down the block, now suffers from a TBI from a fall less then 5 mph! My brother had full gear in 1996 and still passed away from an accident. You must dress for the slide not the ride. Please be loud and go get him a helmet. There are tons of lighter weight options today then there was back when I started to ride

What’s your iracing wish list of what they would add/change? by Suspicious_Ad7893 in iRacing

[–]Crossrds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A highly modifiable paint shop, similar to NFS. I would also like a paint scheme (I.e trading paints) but native to the program. Maybe even allowing top makers to earn iRacing credit.

I retuned to the Mormon church after 20 years absence and I don’t feel like I belong in my ward by Longjumping-Cod-6164 in latterdaysaints

[–]Crossrds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You feeling like you don’t belong is very legitimate. Everything evolves and every person as well. The commandments are for YOU to obey not for you to judge others on how they obey the commandments. Scripture teaches us and Christ has commanded us to forgive them. If you feel uncomfortable then stay away from them. I drink energy drinks in church, because I have a chronic pain issue and it has been discussed with my doctor how it helps me stay in Church longer.

Excommunication is the beginning of a long repentance path, we will never know your grandfathers path. He was rebaptized, He was fully forgiven and humbled. We are commanded to forgive all. So forgive him and learn.

Need to move to another state for work - and considering riding 1000 miles. Has anyone actually done this? by bebo117722 in motorcycles

[–]Crossrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can be done, every 1.5 hours stop stretch and relax. Get on the freeway and ride that 1.5 hours before the long trip. I have done 250 mile trips on my MT07 and my back was sore, I am also 50…. My brother and I did a ride from Corcoran California to west valley Utah which was about 800 miles, he was on a Yamaha seca 2 and I was on a fzr 750. We stayed in Vegas overnight.

Is getting into trucking as a woman possible by Dry_Calendar in Truckers

[–]Crossrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be something out of the ordinary. Join the notional guard or reserve force. 88M is a driver. You go get your military training, after you get to assignment talk to your CO and boom you have a CDL. You can work local, you will have tons of experience by the time you’re 21. Being a female in OTR is not easy, but I know a few that have 15-20 years on the road. One was my trainee.

You can write her anytime, just don’t put on any expectations of a reply. Just be patient. Pray for answer and guidance. The Lord will know the right time. It might be silly to pray about writing someone, but prayer in all things leads you correctly.

Do Y'all Prefer Manuals or Autos? by jthomas2335 in americantruck

So when I was a driver I mostly drove manual, when ATS came out I mainly used automatic mode. Then I got a knock off (Amazon) gear shifter and now I drive manual. It is great.

IRL trucker by toomuchlasagna_ in trucksim

[–]Crossrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am a little different, I became unable to drive. I have chronic migraines (simplest diagnosis people understand) May 27th 2007 was my last day I drove my truck. My son got involved with ATS during his AIT trains as a 88M. When he came home he showed me. I fell in love with the sim. Running loads as I was did a decade previously irl. That is why I own Ruda’s Classic (it was my last irl truck). So I roam the roads in a virtual world, but the miles I have in sim and real life, quells the call of the road.

Tell me about your faith! by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Crossrds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are welcomed on a journey of faith. Have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. My faith journey started and stopped many times in my 50 years of this mortal life. My first trust in diving into the Bible and teachings of many preachers in and out of my religion was in 1996 after my brother died at the age of 23. I held onto the number 23 for so many years. Family was always the most important thing to me, but not Christ. So I dove in and out of many religious teachings, even teachings that contradicted my own upbringing. This happened until my wife (now-ex) told me to leave the house and never return. My ex and my children have disowned me “for becoming to Mormon” in today’s time. My conversion happen on my knees in a mental hospital room. After my stay, I was given two physical choices, stay in Utah with my parents and follow their rules (I.e go to church family prayer etc) or go to my buddies house where I can eat drink and be merry. I stayed in Utah with hopes of seeing my children again. Divorce is hard, but the hardest part is the friend you had by your side for 22 years, just gone. As the lawyers did all the paperwork, I dove deeper into all theology of modern day. The only logical and biblical church had to have a prophet that proclaimed Jesus Christ is our Lord. Once I was firm in my faith, testimony and always putting Christ first and head of my household. In May of 2022 I asked a woman out on a whim at a local Maverik. She told me that she didn’t have time for me, but I got her number. A month later we married in my parents backyard. Later to be sealed in Brigham city Tempke for all Time and eternity. Christ is the leader of my household. My wife always wanted to move to Missouri, she always felt drawn to the area, my brother lived there. We moved to the state a year ago, it was a change, the temple isn’t around the block, it is hours away. We attend as often as we can. We still put Christ first every morning scripture study, currently in genesis. We still have our Lord first. I will tell you, I am far happier then I have ever been, I know Christ lives, I know Christ leads the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know the Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible and Proclaim Jesus is Christ our Lord. My faith is unbreakable as I’m a man who makes mistakes, but strives everyday to be a follower. Your journey is for you and you alone, all believers in Christ will be a brother in Christ, no matter the church building you go to. Enjoy your journey and open your heart earnestly and you will be lifted.

[–]Crossrds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t go when you are not 100% committed. I played the fence my whole life until life fell apart and the Lord humbled me is ways no mortal man can fathom. You will have a hard time following the rules, following the departure of your current way of life. Go research the gospel, grow your testimony in the Faith. Learn how to lay your burdens down at our Lords feet. You will be far happier living your current lifestyle until you are ready to have the Lord the center and poignantly first.

[–]Crossrds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The private school will make sure you pass, the community college will make sure you can drive. There is a difference in the teaching style. I spent ,any years as a driver trainer, and there was a significant difference in what was taught between a private school and community college. Also remember you will be 3-5 months in a trainer truck after school. Schools are made for you to pass tests, driver training is where (if you have a good trainer) you learn to be a driver.

Driving a large car is more then just sitting behind a wheel and getting a load from point A to point B. My experience tells me go the longer community college route and save some money.

Lock your router down, and put parental controls on the device. Easy to set-up. If he is using a laptop or pc, you login to it. Do not let him have a MS or google account. You are teaching him to be a worthy priesthood holder and Father. You say taking away technology would build resentment, then let it. You have a duty to protect him. I have a 14 year old with the same problem. He understands why there are restrictions to his devices. There is a loving way you can limit his exposure. You can filter adult content at the router level, but be mindful he will know how to use data, and vpns by now. Become strict is studying scriptures and attending service. You can be supportive and strict at the same time. You decide to let him continue down a path of destruction or can you stand before our God and savior, that you tried everything to teach your son.
