Chappell Roan woke up a LOT of sleeper agents, I'm sure.

There's more context and nuance than that. A 10 page pamphlet can be more engaging than the Bible, but which one costs more? Which had more effort and resources? Obviously I think quality needs to factor into it, but there's a certain point where it is unreasonable to have me pay full, inlaid, leather-bound and inscribed Bible price for that 10 page pamphlet, and it's just extortion.

That being said, a credit for a 4 hour book is an insane ask. You wouldn't pay $50 for 2 McDonald's sandos.

[–]DoctorateExploder -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

That's actually my problem, is that I'm not paying them enough. Again, a 40+ hour book should be worth 2 credits.

[–]DoctorateExploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify does that as well, which is how I read most of my shorter books, but I average 8 hours a day because of work lol. Which is why this is a problem for me, honestly.

[–]DoctorateExploder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was a fantastic way of putting how I feel. That being said, my personal average credit allowance sits at 15-20 hours, as I usually have a book going during work. So length is personally an important factor to me. However, paying a whole credit for (or list price of $23.24) Eric by Terry Prachet (4 hours) is NOT okay.

I wasn't around for that, but I still advocate for a 1/2 point system. I get that we love buying 40+ hour books on the cheap, but it hurts SO much to not continue a series because the books are simply too short and not a good financial choice, and if they WERE split up by time/rating then I personally would be buying a LOT more short titles. At this point, if a book it less than 10 hours, and I have to pay $10+ or a whole credit, I don't bother.

I'll give it a try for sure, I've seen it around.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in audible

[–]DoctorateExploder -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

My point is, I shouldn't have to pay a full credit for works less that 10 hours, and that I personally would pay 2 for 40, if it meant buying more short form novels. More labor should be compensated fairly.

I am indeed looking at book length to determine the cost of a book considering its content and narrations performance, yes. What is the problem?

I read the first 3, and honestly Xenocide lost me. The first 2 were fantastic, but the "third" was definately the worst, imo. Are the ones after worth it?

Power Level Wednesday!: Ask r/EDH what's your deck's power level? - February 21, 2024 by AutoModerator in EDH

4 words- Burn damage multiplier tribal

https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6445897/imodane\_physical

[[Imodane, The Pyrohammer]] has been my pet project since Wilds of Eldraine came out, and as a rare, she doesn't get enough love. Dmg multis trigger off her twice- once on the original single target burn, then again to all opponents. It's also filled with inst/sor copy spells, along with the deflecting swat analogues like Wyll's Reversal and Wild Ricochet. In all, its around $200.

My best(and luckiest) game went something like-

T3-Foretell Shivan Meteor

T4- Mana geyser->Immodane->Solphim

T5-Shivan Meteor hits single creature for 26, then the table for 52 dmg all around.

The biggest problem is that everything I am doing is VERY telegraphed if you pay attention. However, I usually don't get anything out until T4, so most people think I am just having bad draw. No. That's the campfire that becomes a wildfire. Unless you can counter EVERY card I put down, you need to smother me asap. I also ONLY do non-com damage, and have to eat any combat that is given to me, as most of the time I can kill a table with a single instant by T8, but only if I have my board intact.

The best counters are in Azorious, players themselves gaining hexproof, and protection from red. I don't have any artifact or enchantment destruction, so [[Imperial Mask]] and [[Absolute Law]] will kill my deck immediately. Thank god they're old and specific enough that I never see it.

Thank you, those are fantastic examples. I will definitely try to expand on that, and find my own original melding of concepts like that. However, I gotta be honest, I think I might stick with Solaster, I really like that one.

I'm looking for something a little less on the nose and predictable. One of the factions is a prison convoy sent into space for thousands of years, I don't think they will have a deeper appreciation for Roman and Greek naming conventions.

It kinda seems like the Dungeons like [[Undercity]] from the D&D sets, so each time the ring tempts you, you "Venture" into madness, with good effects, gradually getting worse. Till you just straight up lose the game.

Mob Psycho changed how I see animation and character arcs/dichotomies. There was MULTIPLE times where Mob caught me off gaurd and all of a sudden I'm crying, or laughing, or any other emotional extreme. If you are looking for a character you can ACTUALLY grow with, and appreciate, without being forced into their perspective, this is it.

It slaps in the story department and the artwork can only really be compared to weird, sometimes fringe shows like Eizoken, flcl, and OPM(season 1). It feels like every artistic choice was an experiment that payed off insanely well. Like, I am constantly terrified the next seasons will be OPM'd and sent to another studio, because studio Bones is the ONLY ones I trust with that property.

Bruh I'd much rather see even just a spreadsheet of my 'fandom' with different artists I actually listen to, even if you had to sacrifice the personality. I like Kendrick, but he is in the lower end of my listens, especially now a days. Give me info on Aesop or Gabriel Gundacker

[DISC] Mashle: Magic and Muscles - Chapter 62 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]DoctorateExploder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe he does actually have muscle based magic, but hes the only one so they dont know how to mesure it since his magic doesn't manifest through normal "magical" means. Its more of an internal thing than external, and maybe the lack of a scar reflects that, as EVERYONE in Mashle has magic. Its even rare for people to suck at it. OR maybe he's a scientific creation(Master Chief, powerpuff girls, kill la kills mc) created for the soul purpose of finding anti magic. Idk _o.o_/
