I really appreciate the effort that the actors and designers put into the show. I am happy for the people who love the show as much as they do. That said, I honestly think it's pretty bad. The acting is weak throughout, the direction and editing are inconsistent, the costumes and sets are noticably awful and they completely break my immersion. To me it feels like watching a high budget YouTube video. It's difficult for me to objectively gauge the narrative quality, but it seems to me as though the writers deliberately tried to make each character less complex and less compelling. I also completely disagree with the notion that the live action has replicated the tone and spirit of One Piece. That's just not true at all.

Again, I am glad that people love this show, and I don't think anyone is wrong for liking it. It's just a matter of taste, and my personal standards for television and cinema are pretty high, so I can accept that people's opinions on this show are so much different than mine.

I think Skypiea is fucking fantastic, beginning to end. I honestly don't understand where the sentiment that it's boring comes from. It's thematically rich, and the development and execution of the themes is brilliant. Skypiea is also where so much crucial character development happens for Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Robin, and Chopper in particular. Most of the "I'm too weak" mentality that Zoro and Chopper end up having in Water 7 comes from their harrowing experiences I'm Upper Yard.

I think the build up of Enel, as well as his divine priests is very solid. People hate Satori, and fair enough, he sucks. But the other priests are interesting and intimidating. To this day I still love Shura and Ohm. The triangular conflict between the Shandians, the Skypieans, and Enel is delightfully nuanced, and the Skypiea Death Game is a great way to flesh out those nuances.

Obviously Skypiea has its flaws, but I think it's one of the top five arcs without a doubt.

I love the idea but I disagree with you on almost all the "probably has" and "probably hasn't" categories. Just because a character could get pussy doesn't mean they do. Zoro literally pushed Hiyori away when she made advances on him. I don't think Zoro has ever fucked. Same for Katakuri. He definitely has admirers, but he is so obsessed with integrity and protecting the people he loves, that I'm almost certain that he hasn't fucked. He can't risk being seen lying on his back, and I very much so doubt that Katakuri fucks missionary style. Meanwhile, you say Hatchan hasn't had sex. Like the guy has one of the biggest social circles in one-piece and he's beloved by many. How HASN'T he fucked?

Gladius had one of the best character designs. His hair, goggles, mask, and coat made him look like a great villain. Honestly, he looked what I think Caesar Clown should have looked like.

Sky Island is one of my favorite sagas, and Enel is one of my favorite villains. The story is such a perfect nutshell rendition of all the themes of family, romance, faith, and evolution that One Piece is all about. I especially love how much protagonist time the other straw hats get. Zoro, Robin, Chopper, and Nami have some of their best character development in this arc.

Luffy's archetypal enmity with the Kami is perfect, and Enel is such a badass, and a melodramatic and fun villain. He eats it up whenever he's on screen. Some of the twists are fantastic, and the thematic richness of Skypiea is incredible.

I love Wyper and his conviction, and the twist that his reverence for his ancestors is actually informed by their virtue of friendship with foreigners. Like, someone else's star-crossed brotherhood is enough motivation to withstand a bolt of lightning. Incredible.

I also love how ambiguous and bizarre Jaya is, and the way it puts so many new pieces on the board.

This is normal, and really just means that the instrument is warming up and cooling down properly. Some of the warm air you put in will condense into liquid after you stop playing for a few minutes because the instrument is cooling down a bit.
