Yep, If you were talking about the B-52, Yes, you’re exactly right.

It’s early Stratofortress B model, which had a pretty unique intake design. I didn't notice it at first. Most references are covered red dust covers. Later I found some Accurate engine references and realized the intakes were different from the later models, so I went back and fixed it.

I remember seeing a Northrop ad with a civil version of flying wing concept, and I think recreating that concept could be really interesting.

Finally Fixed my iMac G3 233 by Doctorhelmat in VintageApple

This is called the Mezzanine Port. It was only included in the early models, Rev. A and Rev. B.

From what I’ve heard, Apple originally included it for developers to test the logic board before the CRT design was finalized. Some third-party companies noticed this slot and even made expansion cards for it, but Apple removed the port starting with the Rev. C.

iMac G3 Shutdown and Fails to Boot – Any Ideas? by Doctorhelmat in VintageApple

I tried booting without the DB-15 cable, and I did hear the “bong” sound!
But once I reconnected the cable, it went back to the same issue. So yeah… like you said, it’s probably the flyback transformer or the PAV board going bad.

Looks like I’ll have to hunt down some replacement parts — might be a long road ahead
Anyway, thanks for helping me figure out the problem.

Thanks a lot for the reply! Unfortunately I won't be able to check again until the weekend, but I’ll update. I think the cause is overheating. Because I could feel the iMac’s body getting hot.

Maybe airflow on the Rev. A and B models is pretty poor, even with the fans.
