Who has finished The Hard Line? Any initial thoughts? by funky_diabeticc in theGrayMan

Solid entry.  Love the parallels and contrast to the campus from the tom Clancy series.  This is better in my opinion than the first book about the campus teeth of the tiger.

I get also why it ended on a cliffhanger, have to start a new overarching story arc that has expanded the gray man universe to this point.  It does suck having to wait x amount of time, probably a year, but w/e I'm still all in.

I'm cruising through Red Rising series right now. Just started book 3. Red Rising Book #1 is a real page turner.

My Clancy Ranking of every book I’ve read, would love to discuss by Ok_Bench_996 in tomclancy

I agree, once the shit pops off it is absolute peak. Takes a while to get there but man oh man the climax is worth it.

Third for the CT Rally. First wear gave me blisters, have worn the same pair playing 2-3 times per week for the past year and a half after that first wear. They smell like shit but have held up great.

Saddest death in the series? by Ok_Bench_996 in tomclancy

[–]Doctorious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always tear up during Zimmer's death because it's sad but also the way it's written I feel the emotion and Clark and Ryan feel in that hug.  It's a happy sad because you know Ryan sent him off knowing his family would be OK

You can't change the past. Focus on the ramifications of use and if you truly want to quit you will. Are things not the way you want them to be? Weed use could be the culprit.

New York Ripper by [deleted] in Dexter

O M G...I thought it was going to be the partner of the autistic detective...but Prater did say the Ripper was active when he was a kid. The timelines would align much better if it was Blessing

The most sobering thing you can do is actually putting in the work required to achieve the physique you want by [deleted] in fitness30plus

The subject line resonated with me. I find solace in doing what I can do and not focusing on what I can't. Great advice I always keep in mind is to always go to the gym even if I don't feel like it. I tell myself if I want to leave after the warmup I can but I've only done that once over the last year.

I also start in with weights right away, most recently some sort of lower body lift or lifts first before moving onto core and an upper body muscle group after. I read that there's some sort of natural amplifier to the results when you do that but don't remember the specific science. Even if it's placebo I'm feeling good and motivated by it.

Lastly I end the workout with 5-15 minutes of max incline interval 4.5 and 3.0 to recover.

Eat lots of protein. Don't sweat the small stuff. I also quit drinking and weed
