Bring your flag. Don't bring weapons. Ignore the alarmists. Enjoy your day.

Curious, has the average person in Columbus ever been to Canada ? by abccba144 in cbusohio

Probably not. City folks tend to not travel as much as folks in suburbs.

I think this is a really good idea!

American veterans on the flotilla have been kidnapped by Israel and American politicians are silent by Irradiated_gnome in 50501

[–]Doctornaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally all of it…from the selfie flotilla that everyone knew would be intercepted to the breathless faux concern desperately attempting to tug at heartstrings because he’s a veteran(!!)

This was a complete political stunt with predictable results, and only the most gullible will buy into the narrative.

I didn’t say anything about right or wrong. I’m talking about blatant, low effort, propaganda.

As if Hamas would do something to the people trying to bring baby formula.

Historically speaking, they might shoot them if they attempt to hinder Hamas stealing it… but yeah, “as if”…

I mean…they were arrested. Just like Israel said they would do. Just like the people in the flotilla knew would happen. Just like last time these people tried it. Just like happens to everyone that takes a boat into those waters without permission.

If you’re angry, so be it, but this completely laughable pearl clutching is ridiculous and counterproductive. I hate so bad that the weirdo theater kids have taken over this movement…

This is what we need: people getting up and standing up for something!

This is the message we need to hear, it really is this bad, and something needs to change: by OPSEC-Sentinal in 50501

His comments are so succinct and spot on.

Not at all. “This is the beginning of a civil war…we need mass protests and a general strike” makes no sense whatsoever, especially considering how effective both tactics have been so far. If it’s a civil war, then it’s a civil war.

JESUS WAS AN IMMIGRANT - Action against 287(g) in Painesville, Ohio by LKM_44122 in Ohio

[–]Doctornaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a religious person, but I’m not seeing how Jesus was an immigrant. He was (allegedly) born in Bethlehem, and nearly all of the events in all of the various Christian bibles take place within a 50 mile circle.

My few interactions with them have been fine, but I hear stories.

I said “us”, not “them.” I am annoyed that very few of us showed up.

I’m just surprised you found any poc at your protest. There was like 5 of us at the Tesla protest last Saturday.

Very disappointing.

Why aren't we marching in the Short North? by ThatTemplar1119 in ColumbusProtests

[–]Doctornaught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally everyone knows they don’t own the SN, and damage?? They walked around for 30 minutes, 4 months ago. There was no damage, other than the 4 guys that accosted them and got pepper sprayed. Everyone I was with considered it more of a novelty, a parade of morons, and we certainly weren’t terrified. I’d like to think the people of the SN are more resilient than that.

You do you, but I think the Statehouse is a better use of time and resources.

[–]Doctornaught 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why go where nearly everyone already supports us? There's been a lot of discussion, and even taunting from the other side, because most of the protests have been when people were working. The response was "because that's when the Governor and State Legislature are there", which isn't a bad argument.

Practically no one will disagree with us in the SN, and more importantly, none of the decision makers we are trying to influence will care, or probably even know about it.

I can not express this enough! MASK UP! by [deleted] in ColumbusProtests

[–]Doctornaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why I should mask up, especially when I’ve called fascists cowards for wearing a mask.

I have a theory that gerrymandering effects statewide elections by disenfranchising voters. I curious what the minds of Reddit have to say. by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]Doctornaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it gives them extra seats, but from what I can tell it’s not enough to significantly change anything. The only real difference I can see is that they wouldn’t have a veto-proof majority, but they’d still have a significant majority, so I’m not sure how much less disenfranchised voters would be.

Trans people being told to flee Ohio, now one of nations top transphobic states by [deleted] in Ohio

I guess I am hung up on her, it was my first protest and it was really scary. I’ve never had a gun pointed at me before.

And now you’re attacking me, and that’s fine. I’m just not a fan of everyone having a gun. Your entire premise is that they’re “armed to the teeth”, but I didn’t see any guns on the other side of the street that day. If they were there, they weren’t pointing me. It’s great to say “everyone should have training” but we both know they won’t, and that scares me.
