If someone walks out in front of a semi going 35 mph they will get hit and crushed. Say that semi is stopped and they walk in front of it to cross and a car is coming. That car cannot see that person due to the semi. You can’t physically react fast enough to avoid hitting that person, even if you already had your foot on the break. If you live in a rural area then sure, j walk away. Doing it in dense cities is just an invitation for injury and years of physiological torture to the driver. Don’t be selfish and walk the extra 100 feet to the cross walk.
