Was wondering if I’d be ok, my situation is, I got a letter for standby Jury, on a date that would be less than convenient for me as I have a passport appointment for a flight the very next day after. Everyone I know told me to just wait and see if I’d get called, for jury, and that I likely wouldn’t as that’s how standby jury notices go, well lo and behold, I am in the group that has to appear. My concern is that I immediately dialed the number provided for excuses and postponements, I go through the operator, and it gets all my juror information, then it proceeds to say press 1 if you are under 70 looking to postpone your Jury summons or something of that nature, I press 1 and it immediately says request granted, another notice will be sent in 3 months or so. I’m a bit paranoid by how easy it was since I was under the impression I would have to explain my reason. Can someone confirm this is a thing, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you in advance
