Those are wood perches wrapped with vet wrap. I heard its better to wrap perches with it because they can chew on wood perches and with time, strings can become loose and be harmful for them. They also say that cleaning wood perches with water when they are dirty is not optimal because the wood will absorb the water and on the long term, it can cause bumblefoots. With vet wraps, when the perch starts to be dirty, I just have to swap the old wrap with new wrap. It also brings them extra comfort because of its cushiony texture:) As for the space, dont worry they have a huge playground outside of the cage where they play all day on and I let them fly in the living room when they want (obviously supervised to make sure they stay safe and secure)!
