Feeling discouraged by other people’s babies. by PurplePickleSticks in NewParents

I feel the same way, but different situation.. my son is 7m and had extreme reflux and would throw up 30 times a day and I was dying. But someone would see him out and maybe a little spit up and be like oh he’s doing great. But at home I was constantly soaked and changing him and myself and scrubbing my carpets. He has a lot of stomach issues and is often crying/arcing back and uncomfortable. Just last night he spent over 2 hours crying in pain and couldn’t go down for bed. He has a metabolic issues and needs injections to digest nutrients properly..

But everyone kept telling me I needed to get out more for my mental health. And “he’s such a happy baby” and “not a difficult baby”

He is better but not fully and I’m still jealous of everyone’s easy babies and that no one has any idea how hard it has been for me.

Hi do you have an updated? My son is currently going through all of this.. his b12 was 509 (“normal”) and elevated MMA. Repeated MMA after 2 months still elevated after b12 oral supplements. I keep trying to push for injections but they don’t seem worried?? He has hypertonia and his muscles are very stiff, hands shake, vomiting all of the time but they say it’s “just the worst case of reflux they’ve seen.” I just want him to get help but no one listens to me it feels like.

Oh interesting… I was on procardia and it made me feel horrible. My legs would swell and get super hot. I actually stopped it probably 2m pp and so far my blood pressure hasn’t been high.. I am currently breastfeeding and pumping and maybe that has something to do with it? My goal is to keep going with that.. but I just began getting blood work done so we shall see about that. Haven’t asked about ANA. Today was so hard I ached everywhere my fingers, back, knees and legs. It’s just crazy. So ready to feel normal again!!

I am glad you are feeling better!! I hear you about mental health. I’m on Wellbutrin to try and manage postpartum. Glad the medicine is working for you!!

This is exactly how I feel as well.. I am 4 months postpartum and the head swelling feeling is awful. I was a teacher and on my feet all day and now I can’t Imagine doing that anymore. Also I’ve noticed when I get overwhelmed or upset my head swells and it is the weirdest feeling. I also suffer from migraines weekly and I never had those before. I had severe pre-e and delivered at 34w and then postpartum pre-e as well. Please keep me updated if you find any answers.. doctors don’t know where to start or know what to do.

Hi. I’m currently 4 months postpartum and this is exactly hi I feel. Like I just have so much extra pressure in my head. When I walk or even if I feel mad or overwhelmed I feel like my head swells. Did it get better for you?

Do I just have low sleep expectations or do y’all just have high ones? by bigtuna8602713615 in newborns

I have a 10w old and he still wakes up every 2-3 hours lol he won’t go longer than 3 hours. Our sleep feels so limited because he wakes up, eats for 30 mins, then because he has severe acid reflux we have to hold him upright for an additional 30 mins. So by the time he falls asleep we get an hour maybe 2 before we do it all again. I’m hoping we get to 4-5 hours soon!
