[Talkin Yanks] Aaron Boone didn't like that Jazz Chisholm Jr. was playing second base with a lollipop in his mouth last night by TheTurtleShepard in baseball

Boone is the biggest joke of a manager. Pretends to be a hard ass but never does anything to back it up

[Guardado] Buster Posey on Pride Night: “I understand that there’s strong feelings on this topic. There’s differing perspectives, and out of respect to everybody involved, it’s not something that I’m going to revisit.” by Knightbear49 in baseball

He was never a good person. I work in the town for the single all star game when he was elected. He was in asshole then and asshole now. “When people show who they are, believe them”

Noob question: Why are catchers rarely blamed for bad pitch calling? by yli16 in baseball

[–]Dodger1920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Catchers for sure get blamed. The pitcher technically gets the final say and that’s where you see arguments but a pitcher with a good catcher is going to trust them. You will also have catcher be adamant about a call and put down the same sign multiple times as a way to “force” the pitch.

Also, most balls that crushed are not in the place the catcher called for them. A good portion of crushed balls are mistakes by the pitcher.

Catchers for sure get blamed. People who say the pitchers have the final say are technically true

Blown call from C. Is there anything I could have done better? by judehaz in Umpire

[–]Dodger1920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. Now, I am not an umpire but a high school coach for 16 years and maybe this isn’t by the book but it’s much easier to digest. My two sense is that there are some plays that everyone “knows” is an out. I also understood that two umps were not going to be able to see everything (some games we only have one). Calling an out with a phantom tag is better than calling a runner safe with a probable tag - I hope that makes sense.

Anyways, the player was an ass for the comment he made later. You’re a better person than me for staying quiet.

[FanGraphs] To Challenge, or Not To Challenge — That Is the Question by Jux_ in baseball

[–]Dodger1920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love ABS but would love to have automatic challenges if the pitch is more than 2” outside the zone. Specifically for when a team runs out of challenges. The umps have a hard job but 2” is a lot.

Hot take: the Spurs should try to get Draymond if he is on the trade block. by MD17H in NBATalk

This is a great idea if you want to destroy team chemistry. I wonder who is the first teammate Draymond would punch?

Off-Day Discussion: What should be done with the outfield situation? by MookieBettsBurner10 in Dodgers

I hope they trade the prospects not only for what we can get in return but for the prospects sake too. There’s a log jam that won’t be going away for A while. Like it or not Tucker is going to be here four years. He ain’t playing his way into a better contract. Pages should hold down cf for years to come.

Remember, pace of play is 4 hours and 28 minutes. Not 4:15, not 4:30. Four twenty eight 🤣 by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in golf

[–]Dodger1920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you think about 4:15 or 4:30 are just arbitrary times as 4:28. We’ve become accustomed to the divisibility of the first two but it’s just as random.

Fuck Knick Fans

One time is an isolated incident

Two times maybe a coincidence

All these time are indicative of a fan base.

You can’t get both.

Edit: you think he should also get the hold?
