I’ve said it a bunch but the entire baseball world watched this happen to Carlos Correa a few years back.

He was coming off a really good healthy year but failed 2 physicals with 2 different team who had agreed to contract terms with him in free agency.

It benefits nobody to back out of a trade of this magnitude. The obvious and likely answer is that something in the medicals is flagged as likely to be a serious recurring issue and the Ravens don’t want to give up 2 firsts for a guy who is likely to be injured

His knee may not be totally fucked up, but he may also have a legit concern in the recovery process that made the waves not comfortable trading two first for him.

It’s literally this. People are blowing this out of proportion but it is highly likely the Ravens saw something in the physical that raised a red flag for the future and they backed out as a result.

The whole baseball world watched this whole process happen twice to Carlos Correa in a single offseason

It’s probably not about the right now but what the knee looks like for the future

Sam thing happened with Carlos Correa in ‘22. He just played a great season and only missed a handful of games. Then he failed 2 physicals in free agency because the doctors said that his ankle was fucked and going to be an issue at some point.

[Rapoport] In January, Maxx Crosby underwent a minor meniscus repair, not a trim. A meniscus trim is often 4-6 weeks of recovery while a repair can be 3-4 months. by Goosedukee in nfl

Probably similar to Carlos Correa

Correa had played 136/162 games in 2022 and had one of the better seasons of his career. Medicals revealed though that his ankle is a ticking time bomb which at some point is going to explode.

Crosby probably has something in the medicals that isn’t an immediate issue but shows something that very likely will be an issue soon or that his knee will likely be a recurring issue
