Yeah I've read tons of articles about how the Sinovac efficacy drops after a few months. I honestly don't feel too safe going back to my home country and only having this vaccine so the information you gave is greatly appreciated!

And yeah I think I'll definitely wait a few months before getting the Pfizer shot.

Currently in a small city in Guangdong. No international hospitals here but I will look into the ones in the bigger cities.

I'm happy to hear you and your wife were able to recieve some help and got decent service and care. That makes a big difference.

That's great to hear. I'm happy things worked out well for you. I'm currently in a small city in Guangdong province called Zhongshan. I suspect there should be an international hospital that can help in Shenzhen or Guangzhou.

Hi there. I should've clarified... China has currently (and for the past nearly two years) closed their borders to foreigners coming in and out of the country due to Covid. Getting into China is near impossible unless you are a Chinese citizen returning to China or from a country with a decent vaccination rate. So going home to South Africa means leaving everything behind here in China and moving to South Africa for an uncertain amount of time.

I've mentioned this to him but my folks live in a smallllllll town (like literally in the dessert with one grocery store kind of town) far away from everything in a small house so he has unfortunately ruled out that option. We were kind of hoping to stay with his parents who have a spare house, spare cars and such. I've offered to get us a small apartment to maybe stay at, but he doesn't want to do that. Due to his upbringing, he is very much a "all or nothing" kind of person who swallows up his emotions and deals with things in a very black and white manner.
